I am not a web designer by any means. Everything has gone perfect until I started trying to modify my site. I want to add links to other sites, including my own, and I just can't seem to do it. I also want to add additional pages on top and advertisements. All the mods I added don't seem to allow me to make customizations. For example, I added ad management and simple portal, and nothing I add shows up on my site. I am so frustrated, I wish I had a web designer. My theme is classic red.
what version of smf are you using? in 1.1.1* you need to apply mods manually to custom themes which seems to be your issue. this link will explain some of it Manual Installation of Mods (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=402.0), you will only need to apply the changes that are to the theme files manually. once 2.0 goes gold it has a feature to _attempt_ to install mods on custom themes, but due to them being custom means they may not be applied correctly or possible to be applied at all.
