Title: Cannot Logon To Forum
Post by: newtoallthis on March 24, 2011, 03:46:01 PM
SMF 2 RC5

Today, our host placed the server into SuPHP mode and removed a number of malware files from my site.

I then tried to logon to site and got the following error- An Error Has Occurred!
You were unable to login. Please check your cookie settings.

Our host suggested that I clear all cookies and temp files which i did in my Opera Browser, Tools>Delete Private Data.

Still couldn't logon. Same error.

The host has changed the cookie name and still I cannot log on. Same error.

Help required, please.

I don't believe it was the suphp install. I sorta think I had removed something from a source file while removing the bad code in other files. I am just not sure what files control the login process.

Doubt if it's significant, but I'm getting the following error when trying to access my test forum on the same server Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ELSEIF in /home/leighlan/public_html/smf_test/Sources/Aeva-Embed.php on line 417

lets not worry about that and just concentrate on gaining access to the "Live" forum.

This has been fixed. I had to replace some source files that got scrubbed out for some reason. OP if you have any other issues please raise a support ticket. There might be a few other files that might have to be replaced.

Thanks
Frank

Thanks Frank. I'll see what I find.
