Hi Folks. My first post here - be gentle.
Is there an upper limit on the size of the total attachments in the software? Our hosting service is giving us up to 10 GB of storage but the SMF settings appear to take only up to 999999kb (judging by the size of the settings data box).
Is it safe to type in a much larger number? What should we consider before doing this?
We are currently using around 100MB and expect rapid growth of photos and other files. Possibly video.
Appreciate any sage advice.
As far as I can see there is no limit in SMF on file upload sizes, the default max_packet_allowed variable for mysql is set at 1MB by default, this would stop any application using the mysql database uploading files greater then 1MB, talk to you host about increasing the max_packet_allowed size for your mysql database and it should solve your problem.
