What I want is to set a custom image for a membergroup such as "<span style="background: url(/backround6.gif)"></span>"
So the image goes around the username if the user is in the membergroup, not just change the color of the user.
So how would I go about doing this,
this is a example;
(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg827.imageshack.us%2Fimg827%2F4164%2Funledt.png&hash=afd6bfc8f4f5c6ddca079e33286b82d2d1740fa7)
this is not possible in smf, and i think it could lead to security issues down the road if anyone other then admin can edit the html.
It would only be admin..
Except that the manage membergroups area is not necessarily admin only.
Actually, it *is* possible. But it's a big security issue, and can cause other issues to, so it's not going to happen.
vbulletin allows span options, and it hasn't been a security issue.
And vBulletin is written totally differently to SMF which makes the argument rather useless.
So the only thing you can change in the username makeup is color then..? couldn't a mod be made, where you could edit the HTML makeup of a membergroup that is only available to admin..?
As I said earlier it is "possible", but it's not going to happen.

I would also note that both bold and italics are already used by SMF in the who's online area to signify things.
