Hi guys!
I'm running a vps and i have problems in installing new packages. I installed my smf 1.1.13 and everything is working fine. Then, i try to install some packages (Pretty URLs, etc..) but when i click Install Now, i got this error:
Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/myusername/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/Packages/temp/SMF1-1/install.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/myusername/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/Sources/Packages.php on line 556
Ok, now i return to Browse Packages and clicked on [ Apply Mod ]. And i receive this errors:
1. Execute Modification SMF1-1/Sources.xml Modification parse error
2. Execute Modification - Modification parse error
3. Execute Modification SMF1-1/BoardsAndTopics.xml Modification parse error
4. Execute Modification - Modification parse error
5. Execute Modification SMF1-1/Themes.xml Modification parse error
6. Execute Modification - Modification parse error
7. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english.php Test successful
8. Extract File ./Sources/PrettyUrls.php
9. Extract File ./Sources/PrettyUrls-Filters.php
10. Extract File ./Sources/PrettyUrls-Tests.php

13. Extract Tree ./Themes/default/pretty

I don't really see major problem based on your description. From what I see you may nee to do manual modifications on some of the files while the rest can be continued with normal installation.
Unless you mean all, I mean really, all mods cannot be install this way, my suggestion is you have to reinstall your forum. There could be something wrong with your initial installation of SMF 1.1.3.

I already installed 1.1.3 two times, and v2 one time and both have same problem.
And it happens with all mods -.-'
Thanks in advance :)
After installing your SMF, did you CHMOD'ed all files and folders from this list (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=5)?

Yes :)
Check with your host.
Ask them if you have full ownership of the files on your site.
If you don't understand that, don't worry, coz your host will. :)

I have experienced ubuntu for server and with server and I have never experienced similar problem to yours.
I guess this is a matter of permission. You have to give the right permission so that you can install mods from within SMF via any browser and places. I think "chown" is the keyword you should search in ubuntu support forums to solve your mystery.

Thanks in advance :)
Buuger. Missed that. ;)
w3bm4st3r did you solve your problem.
I have a similar problem but am using FreeBSD.
Kind of an old topic but any update here? rdbranson, it's always better to open your own topic unless everything you are experiencing is the same as the OP. :)
