Ok, so today I brought my hosting with gator hosting and I installed SMF through quick-install. The version they had listed 1.1.13 so I asked them how to upgrade to the latest version 2.0 RC5 they couldn't help me with the instructions. So I'm waiting for my site to be set up to the servers do anybody know if I could upgrade it from my forum or do I got to install it from my cPanel??? Help Me PLEASE!
Yeah, if you ask your host for instructions on how to install SMF they'll just tell you to come here. :P
The latest stable version IS 1.1.13, so some hosts highly recommend that you use that rather than the 2.0 version.
Did you already install 1.1.13 on your new host? Do you have FTP access?

Yes I installed 1.1.13 on my hosting server through quick installs... They handle the rest. I just wanted to make sure that I didn't have the wrong version instead of the new version. Whats the difference between Versions 2.0 and !.1.1.13??? I didn't understand why there two different versions. Thanks for informing me on that.
Much different. SMF 2.0 is still in development while 1.1.13 is finished - only security patches and fixes are released for 1.x.
The "new" version is SMF 2.0, if you are trying to upgrade from 1.1.13 to 2.0 you should see Upgrading SMF (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=3.0;sort=subject).

oh ok so do I have too upgrade to 2.0 or I can just keep the "finished" version???
you do not have to upgrade to 2.0 as it is not a full release. no one in the near future can force you to upgrade if you do not want to.
