I just attempted to upgrade my forum from 1.1.13 to 2.0rc5. I downloaded the large upgrade, unpacked the contents, uploaded all the files to the appropriate location on my server via FTP, pointed my browser to upgrade.php and waited. . . and waited . . . and waited. . . and waited. Finally after letting it run all night long with no change whatsoever I reverted to my backup and I'm here to try and find out what went wrong before attempting another upgrade.
The upgrade utility got stuck at the backup stage with the first progress bar stuck at 4 % and the second one at 0% and 0 of 59 tables backed up.
help please
as long as you have a backup yourself, you do not need to use the backup option in the upgrade.php script. try running it without doing the backup first, as long as you have a database backup.
