Hello, first of all I would like to apologize from all of you for the delayed release as it has been deleted once due to a hard disk fail I had. I would like to present you, eoSmf which is based on the Eos theme originally created by Cyberalien (http://www.phpbbstyles.com). I would also like to thank A.M.A (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=profile;u=43) for his ideas and OIDanTheManIO (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=profile;u=9760) for testing and his comments.
The theme offers:1) Expandable width - The theme is released in fixed width but it can be set to cover all of the page from the Theme Settings.
2) Special Quick Reply - eoSmf offers BBC buttons and smilies in Quick Reply.. Again this special feature can be turned off from the administration panel.
3) Support for the 1.1 Beta 3 Public release

Updates:09.09.2005 - A lot issues with the theme which were addressed (thanks piyabute ;)) have been corrected and the 1.1 Beta3 Update package has been updated with the fixes. Also I have added the extra images to the theme and optimized all of the theme so it loads faster. I
strongly recommend a reupload of all the package...
28.08.2005 - Extra buttons have been added...
18.08.2005 - Total Members weren't showing because of a new variable which I had forgotten to update...
14.08.2005 - The theme was updated to work with 1.1 Beta 3 Public and some wrap issues and the problem with the icq and yim buttons were solved.
Notes:1. The default smiley set is used for the quick reply, to use your own, copy and paste the smileys in the /images/post folder2. Makes use of some of the default icons3. Has some code from the Enhanced Quick Reply mod originally created by Kirby (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=profile;u=2025) (aka ???), thanks very much for that ;)
Very nice :D.
-Dan The Man
very nice. So....aweomse
I hope you have permission to use those phpBB images though...
Very nice. :)
Looks elegant and easy to read.
Great job porting it over to SMF. ;)
Very nice work! This theme seems to increase the number of users of smf. :)
Thank you all for your comments... Tippmaster I think you hadn't seen the preview thread, you would know about the permissions if you had ;)
Very nice, looks great! :D
Great Work ....
Great template.
Question. It appears that users with longer personal/avatar text will run into the message body. Is there a way to make it wrap like the default template does?
Yep I had made it no wrap, but I will correct it however the avatars don't make it bigger, it looks as if only the personal text does it. I will update the package but for now you can do the following changes:
Open display.template.php and find this line:
<tr><td nowrap="nowrap"><span class="name"><b>', $message['member']['link'], '</b></td></tr>';
And make it like this:
<tr><td><span class="name"><b>', $message['member']['link'], '</b></td></tr>';
Continue deleting the nowrap codes till you reach this line:
// Done with the information about the poster... on to the post itself.
Very nice port!
I've always liked this theme!
Nice theme indeed. :) And it seems to be true to the original too..great work.
Thank you all again :)
@Bloc:
Thanks for the comment. I had to change a lot of things and write it from the scratch, SMF has so many other features than PHPBB :)
Nice work forsakenlad ;D (sonunda bitmiş ;D)
Looks great :)
Now you just have to make it work with 1.1 Beta 3 Public ;)
Good job!
Thanks for your comments again, Oldiesmann, I am planning to make it compatible but I am not sure If a lot of things will be changed after the beta :)
First, great Theme. Very nice!
One quetion. How can I change that the buttons ICQ and YIM not shown at all time?
I want to show them only if the user had added it in profile.
Sorry for my bad english. Im german.
greats NetHunter
It looks like a mistake I've made, I will fix it in the quickest time and update the package, thanks very much for pointing that out ;)
I don't think we're planning too many changes for future versions of 1.1, so it should be safe to update it now.
Thanks for the info Oldiesmann ;)
It sort of looks like a phpbb theme

that would truly be icing on the cake .. *hint hint, nudge nudge* ;)
All the issues that were reported by users (wrap problems, image widths, icq&yim issue, etc.) are corrected and the theme is made compatible with 1.1 Beta 3 Public, check the first post for details:

Well, there is no w3c logo on the theme as you might have noticed, and as far as I checked the theme looks same in all the browsers ;D
Total members weren't being showed corretly, the package has been updated with the fix. If you don't want to reinstall all of the theme, you can just change the following:
In BoardIndex.template.php find:
', $modSettings['memberCount'], '
and replace it with:
', $context['common_stats']['total_members'], '
Can I get 4 buttons. Shop, Arcade, Gallery, and Chat. thanks ;D

Pleas help
Which version of SMF are you using?
Thank you for the reports, they are actually bugs! I have also used a variable that doesn't even exist :) I will update the packages when I have time, to fix it you have to some manual editing, naviaget to your /themes/eoSmf folder and open up Messageindex.template.php and find this line:
<a name="top"></a>', theme_linktree(), '</td>';
Add after:
if (!empty($settings['display_who_viewing']))
{
Find this line:
echo empty($context['view_members_list']) ? '0 ' . $txt[19] : implode(', ', $context['view_members_list']) . ((empty($context['view_num_hidden']) or $context['can_moderate_forum']) ? '' : ' (+ ' . $context['view_num_hidden'] . ' ' . $txt['hidden'] . ')');
echo $txt['who_and'], $context['view_num_guests'], ' ', $context['view_num_guests'] == 1 ? $txt['guest'] : $txt['guests'], $txt['who_viewing_board'], '</td>';
And replace it with:
if ($settings['display_who_viewing'] == 1)
echo count($context['view_members']), ' ', count($context['view_members']) == 1 ? $txt['who_member'] : $txt[19];
else
echo empty($context['view_members_list']) ? '0 ' . $txt[19] : implode(', ', $context['view_members_list']) . ((empty($context['view_num_hidden']) or $context['can_moderate_forum']) ? '' : ' (+ ' . $context['view_num_hidden'] . ' ' . $txt['hidden'] . ')');
echo $txt['who_and'], $context['view_num_guests'], ' ', $context['view_num_guests'] == 1 ? $txt['guest'] : $txt['guests'], $txt['who_viewing_board'], '</td>';
}
Find this line:
<span class="cattitle">', $board['name'], '</span>
And replace it with this:
I am sorry again for the wrong coding...
Yo! Thank you very much. It fixs errors! :D
There is one more bug. The quick reply doesn't work. When my user enters message in quick reply textarea and clicks submit, message is not posted.
SMF 1.0.5
THis doesn't happen when I am using it, can you tell me the error they get? Also you are using the 1.05 version of the theme right?
After I only enable "quick reply" feature (without posting yet) and view a topic, these errors occur.

Ok will post a fix soon, thanks for reporting the bugs with the theme ;D
I had forgotten to include the post language variables :) Open up your Display.template.php and find this line:
if ($context['can_reply'] && !empty($options['display_quick_reply']))
Add just above it:
loadLanguage('Post');
(I would like to credit [Unknown] for the fix, thanks again ;))
I will soon update the 1.1 package with the bugfixes and the new buttons ;) I have also done a very detailed check and now I can say that the theme generates no errors :)
The 1.1 Beta3 package has been updated with the fixes and it generates no errors now. I have also optimized the images in the theme and reduced the size. I strongly recommend a reupload of the theme ;)
Why is the 1.0.5 version outdated and not supported? I just added that theme to my test board a week ago and don't want to remove it :P
Because I use 1.1 Beta3 :P Actually I am planning to upload a last 1.05 version with all the errors fixed :) Btw you will have to add more eoSmf's in the future as more colours are coming out :)
I'll add more colors as they're released :)
It's really fun having 5GB of disk space and 50GB of bandwidth
Are there any plans on supporting 1.1 RC1?
Yes I am gonna release a RC1 compatible version soon ;)

Hey Forsakenlad,
One tiny problem, with the messageindex file. You should make the entire side user info menus overflow, not just the avatar.
http://www.tennis-forums.com/forums/index.php/topic,24.45.html
The Karma and User Title's don't always fit inside the box
Which version of SMF are you using? In 1.1 Beta3 I believe it was fixed :)
1.1b3
Sorry, I forgot, if you'd like to check it out- First go to http://www.tennis-forums.com/forums/index.php?theme=26
Then check out any of the topics
Still can't see the theme :)
Yeah, the theme isn't showing up :\
Sorry, I set it as the default theme now. All of the categories aren't aligned correctly in firefox either. IE still has the same problem in the display template.
Oh I get it, are you sure the display.template is the latest one from the package? The category being like that is because the widths are variable, if you want I can post a link to statcize them :)
The categories are aligned correctly now :-\ (After I used IE, they just seemed to align in Firefox ??? )
And yes, it is the latest display template. Maybe you only made the avatars overflow?
I guess you are right, thank you for reporting the bugs, really apperciate it. I will update those bugs when I make the package RC1 compatible ;)
I tried the theme on smf rc1 and i see no problems,some errors are typicial screen errors.
Yeah but I bet your errorlog is full of them :) Also the markread function won't work quite well ;)
:( I best be more careful & my error log seemed to be empty

yea... help..? :-[
also for some reason the total number of members doesnt show up.. http://www.sya.mfhosting.com/forum/index.php
and another thing, whats the font you used for the default header/banner?
You are getting these errors because you are using the 1.05 version of the theme on a 1.1 web site. Installing the 1.1 Beta3 version might be a better idea. These days I am really short of time but I am soon going to release a 1.1 RC1 version ;) The name of the font is "Beat My Guest" ;)
hmmm...
no..i am using the 1.1 version.. ::) so unless the filename somehow got switched with the 1.05 version, i'm using the "eoSmfv11[1][1].tar.gz" one.. i tried downloading a new copy, same thing.. :-\
and abotu the font, yes, thats the one i'm using, i tried to make it look like yours, but yours somehow has letters that are not capitals.. hmm.. ???
You better wait for the 1.1 RC1 to come out then ;) And about the logo, I use the font without any other modifications ;)
Whens the 1.1 rc1 version going to be ready?
If you read my post more carefully, you'll see that I am not able to give an exact release date...
Ok
:-X
ok, i'm such an idiot.. i was so carefull about installing my SMF that i installed the 1.05 instead of the 1.1 :P
so, nvm about all those errors, sorry.. :-[

Don't worru these thing happen all the time. Also read Unknown's post about upgrading a 1.1B3 theme to 1.1RC1 to get a completely error-free forum ;)
Can you tell me how to add those extra buttons? I am using SMF 1.05.
In your Index.template.php, modify the template_menu function to add the buttons ;)
when using this theme in the latest SMF, (1.1 RC2) the help and such pictures have i'd say 2-4 pixels of a border around them.
Anyway to fix this? :)
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=64744.0#post_imgborder
yea, tried, but it still shows the border.. have the code in or not same results.. ::)
i tried placing it in different places just in case if i was wrong but it doesnt work anywhere..
i havent tried it on other pre-made themes because i only have this one, so i dunno if its just me or the theme or what.. :(
I'll check this out and let you know ;)
nevermind, it works now..
it just didnt work then after like 24 hours it started to work. And the wierd thign is that my computer never caches anything online, and i delete the temporary files more than daily, so yea, wierd.. anyways, thanx :)
your work is great!!
but I don't like that blue border
How can i change it?
thx in advance ;)

Template changes from SMF 1.1 RC1 to 1.1 RC2 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=64744.0) ;)
I love this theme
BUT IT HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM
first : the avatars are not being displayed completely, and my friends hate that
second : we speak spanish, and we need to create the buttons in our language, please provide the PSD´s or PNG´s to translate the buttons myself.
http://www.emelexista.com/board/index.php
check out and see for yourself so you understand my problem
please help me with this
I want to keep this template, it looks great ;)
You should explain your first problem better and for your second inquiry please drop me a PM with your e-mail address...
I would like to translate the buttons to spanish
and then share them with you
but please tell me which font did you use ??
So I can save some time comparing
with the fonts I got
this is my forum :
http://www.emelexista.com/board/index.php
It doesn´t show the buttons, since there is not spanish support
So I´ll have to create the buttons myself, but please help me :D
I'll send the png files if you drop me a PM with your e-mail address :)

I will do it now, I want to translate the buttons
and share them with you, like you shared this theme
with all of us
Hi.
me (PAKforces.net) and a colleague of mine (PAKurdu.net) wanted to midfy the theme a little.
one modification is that we are going to integrate the website into the forum and another is Urdu. after which we can share it...here
so wanted to ask for your permision before we start screwing around...
so is it ok if we can do this?
Yes it is ok as long mine and cyberalien's name are mentioned somewhere cause this theme is actually a port ;)
thanks man.
ill post it in this section when we get it done...
Great job with this template forsakenlad... I'm so pleased to see it.
I have a question... Is it possible for the layout to display avatars that are 150px wide without a scrollbar, or cutting off the part of the image that exceeds the limit?
EDIT: Also, I can't seem to get the Quick Reply function to work...
Nothing works within it. When I click the quote button for example, nothing happens. When I click post, the post isn't made.
EDIT 2: Also, on the index page, the figure for "Total Members" doesn't appear.
EDIT 3: Also, I'm using version 1.1 RC2 and everything else works fine.
EDIT 4: Is it possible to stop the body from re-sizing it's width a little when a thread is opened? Lol... Can the one pixel borders be removed from the small graphics (i.e. smilies and BBCode buttons)?

Any news about an updated version? :)
Is there going to be a version for the new SMF 1.1.1? I Hope so. :D
Hopefully soon. :)
