Otsikko: database error
Kirjoitti: johnwise - toukokuu 23, 2011, 09:35:53 AP
Got an email saying :

SMF has detected and automatically tried to repair an error in your database.  If you continue to have problems, or continue to receive these emails, please contact your host.

When I log in as admin, Language Files and Current Templates show 1.0 version and current 1.1.13 and 1.1.12 respectively.   My version of SMF is 1.1.13.   I was up to date and have been for quite a while.   I don't know how this happened.   Many threads have no body at all and some don't even let me go there.

Any help, thanks.

My file versions are pretty similar. Nothing to worry about. :)

Might be good to go to Admin>Forum Maintenance and "Find and repair any errors".

You may as well "Recount all forum totals and statistics.", whilst you're there, too.

It says it fixed errors.  But I'm getting :

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.13, while your database is at version 1.1.3. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

I have searched for upgrade.php.   Can't find it??

Is that a typo?

1.1.3?!? You sure?

I cut and pasted it.  No typo.  I have no idea how to fix this.   And I'd sure like to know why it happened.   Woke up this morning and there it was.

Thanks very much.

Sure is weird, that one.

Normally, that message would mean "Get the SMF v1.1.13 large upgrade package, dearchive it,  upload the files and point your browser to upgrade.php".

That 1.1.3 thing's well-weird, though.

I'll flag this up in the support helpers boards and see if anyone has any ideas.

Might take a while, though.

i think when using the package manager upgrade it does not always upgrade the database version. usually this does not cause an issue though.

does your host have a cpanel or similar where you can issue a repair database/table command? if not you can try following this http://php.about.com/od/mysqladministration/qt/repair_mysql.htm

Discovered this.   It is only doing this when I am logged in as admin.   I can log out and it's fine.  I can log in as a regular user.   Fine.   But when I log in as admin, I'm up the creek???

can you try the above suggestion anyway?

I appreciate all the help.  My host told me that they fixed some corrupted tables.   But it still is giving me error messages when I try to go anywhere as admin.  Except the admin panel.   I get this now :

File: D:\inetpub\mysite\xyz123\Sources\BoardIndex.php
Line: 84

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.13, while your database is at version 1.1.3. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

Should I still try the phpmyadmin thing?  I don't know much about this stuff.  Which I know is obvious.

Thanks again.

it can not hurt to repair the table/database at all, but it sounds like your host may have done the repair for you already. is that the full error message? it does not look like it can you double check that?

Had a message and that version thing's a pain.

Have a look at this:

have you considered trying to use the large upgrade package and start with fresh code and run the upgrade on your database? this may help with your issues.

I'm pretty close to fixed.   My host did it.   Just really one minor issue.   The page views for the past few days or maybe a week went back to 0.

I can't help but wonder if I got hacked.  But I'm just not really that versed with this stuff to actually have a reason for that belief.

Thanks for all the help.   I appreciate it very much.
