Otsikko: Template based on Core theme?
Kirjoitti: Kat9119 - toukokuu 28, 2011, 02:42:52 IP
The Tutorial I see is how to make a theme based off Curve, not Core, and I like Core better. I'm used to creating themes in 1.1.x and I'm curious...I copy and rename the new core directory to the name I want, but what files do I have to edit to change to the new name as well?

In theme_info.xml, there's this:

<name>Core Theme</name>

Is that what you mean?

Well I remember when we used to make themes we'd just copy the folder of the one we wanted to base it off of, then rename the theme to what we wanted, and there were file edits where we had to rename the name in some of the files, and I didn't know where the files would be in 2.0 that I had to do some renaming...if that makes sense lol

I think that's the only file that stores the actual name. (I could be wrong, though)

You can let me know, if I'm wrong.

Maybe even slap me around, a little bit. ;)

Haha, I have another question about the template...an edit for it, don't know if I should open a new topic or not... I need to get the forum in a table...I tried using the code from my current forum, but it isn't working properly..and I'm not quite sure what to do. I need it to look like www.campblood.net/forum see how its in a table centered? I can't use that same coding apparently...because if I use the same code as in my current forum it overrides the body background color

The "Camp Blood: The Home of Jason Voorhees" bit?

Heck... Not a scooby, I'm afraid.

One for the coding board?

Can I see the theme on which you are trying to make the changes to?

Its not a live theme, its just on my computer. Do you want me to copy and paste a specific file?

I need to see the problem to diagnose it. It sounds to me like you're trying to copy 1.1 code into a 2.0 theme?

;) For future reference: the theme_info.xml covers the name as shown in admin. However, the theme selection page in profile also has a brief description of each theme. If you want to edit that you'll find it in languages/Settings.english.php.

It's a good idea to change that too, otherwise things can get confusing on the profile page.

No, its strictly HTML that I'm trying to copy over and insert in the same spot as 1.1 had. When I insert it it does what I want it to, except it changes the background color behind the the forum. So for example if you look at my current site : www.campblood.net/forum you'll see the lined background, then its inside a table and that table has black background...well when I add this HTML it changes it, yet there is no code in the HTML telling it to change it...I can't figure it out lol.
