Hi,

I'm running on SMF 1.1.13 and trying to setup my forum for SMTP mails using gmail. My host has stopped PHP mails. Please help me setting it up.

I tried with the settings given in different threads here but none of them worked for me.. :(

I'm getting similar errors continuously here..

: fsockopen() [<a href='function.fsockopen'>function.fsockopen</a>]: unable to connect to smtp.googlemail.com:465 (Connection timed out)
File: /home/XXXX/public_html/Sources/Subs-Post.php
Line: 973

Could not connect to SMTP host: 110 : Connection timed out

I used the following settings..

smtp.googlemail.com

SMTP port :465

Mail address [email protected]

Password xxxxx

Please help...

try setting it up as listed listed here

SMTP server: tls://smtp.gmail.com
SMTP port: 465
SMTP username: your full gmail address: [email protected]
Password: your password

Thanks for replying... I used the settings, But I'm still getting this error..
