That did delete the SMF logo but when I put my logo up it was to big & when I resized it to fit. IT was too small , so I took my logo off.
N0w the little icons that go to the right of the threads on the board are all gone & just has text on them that say new post no new post. I have no clue what i am doing. If some could tell me in plain english how I could get the SMF logo back, I would be so appreciative & I promise I will not touch my set up again. Thank-you

try upload a fresh copy of the images folder via FTP to your forums theme from a fresh download of smf same version. That will replace all the missing stuff and should narrow any other issues down. If you still have problems afterward post your forums version as well and any mods installed to make it easier to diagnose. ;)
Can you be more specific how you did remove the orriginal Logo ?
Did you edit the theme file or did you just remove the image out of the image directory ?
By the way, the image to show as logo is just a setting in the administration part of the forum. So, it can be done very easily.
