Hey everyone,
Inspired by IchBin's tutorials, I'm curious as to what other subjects people looking to create themes could do with video guides for. Basic things like editing HTML and CSS are possibilities, but what about more advanced stuff, like creating custom settings?
So post your thoughts in this topic.
Also, how would you like to access these tutorials? Would you prefer a simple website that has the videos in a playlist, or would you fancy a nostalgic self-help style DVD from the 90's? Or even why not both? Call me crazy, but I like to watch video content from a DVD and have it on a physical media.
Just keep in mind, that even though I have posted up this topic for thoughts, ideas and feedback, there is no guarantee that I can produce videos like this, what I mean is, while I've got the computer capabilities to do it, it's the time factor, that would hold me back.
So let me know what you think, and I'll honestly see what I can pull off.

Are you wanting to be SMF version-specific?
If you're thinking of SMF v1.x, too, how would "Manually editing custom themes for mods" be?
Tricky, I'd imagine.
Or, maybe, "How to add custom buttons"?
Tricky for buttons that are graphics, I'd imagine...

Since you don't know if you can even make the videos, that is the first step. Make a short video with a simple topic, like say installing a mod, or setting up a member group. Post it on you tube ore some other and announce it here. If the video is well produced you will get lots of suggestions for topics, if not you will get lots of suggestions for improving the quality.

No. I can create a playlist / section on a DVD for 1.1 versions. Hell, in the case of a DVD, it could easily be more than one disc. :P

It's not technology that's a factor. It's time. I have the summer available, but not really a lot until after that for a few months. But I suppose you're right. I should probably produce a simpler tutorial as a sample.
