Hi Guys,
I've just upgraded to SMF 2.0 from RC3 using the large upgrade, the upgrade went fine but a lot of my mods are obviously not working now even though they are showing as installed, most wont allow me to uninstall them as I get errors when trying.
I'm wondering if my forum is a little borked after so many RC's and botch mod install and uninstalls (I'm a noob at this!). So would I be as well now to remove my forum do a fresh install and retain the current database. Or is there something else I should do first.
Thanks in advance guys :)
Hello there.
Large upgrade pack always remove all mods that you have installed, that is not strange. If in Packages section in admin panel you still have some mods listed, you can just delete them (not uninstall, just delete) because they are not actually installed on 2.0 version.
Now when you have 2.0 running you can install mods again if you wish, but installing fresh 2.0 will not change anything, because your files are fresh as you did large upgrade.
If you have any further question feel free to ask.
Regards.
thanks, that was what I was starting to think myself. I will do as you suggest and remove the installed mods from the list.
One more question, if I need to emulate a previous version to get a mod installed do i simply enter "2.0 RC4" as I've tried to do this and get a message that the mod is corrupt.
Thanks for you fast response earlier btw :)
Yes that is exactly what you need to do, just change version to whatever you need.
