Title: Fed up.
Post by: S.T.A.R.S on June 24, 2011, 10:05:09 AM
Hello,

Since i have been using SMF i have always been having problems with Mods.

I have a problem with the Mods working. I install the mods fine, after that its like the most doesnt even exist, no settings or features have been added. I have recently added a Facebook Share Mod to my forum, it has installed sucessfully. Nothing has been added.

Dont ask what other mods i have, that is the only one.

I install mods, but they dont work or show.

Why?

thanks

By looking at your site, I am not positive but it could just be a coding issue since I noticed that your Search and Login areas are all out of whack. This makes me believe that any manual edits to the script may not done properly to get the mod to function?

;)

Ah. I had been told about this problem. This isn't like this for me, this may be because of a different resolution screen.

How would i fix this problem?

Thank you

I believe that your logo may be a bit too long for smaller screen resolutions and it is pushing the other areas down. You have enough empty space on the right side of your logo to shorten it. Try taking 80 or so pixels from the logo width and it should fix it.

Fixed.

Any chance you could check it out and send back another picture?

Thanks

Aw.

Mods still install, but their features do not enable.

I checked the error log and it came up with this:

(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg13.imageshack.us%2Fimg13%2F1120%2F11111da.png&hash=b594f640d6c9edf8a2f54767270e5b4cbd9b249b) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/13/11111da.png/)

Subs-Packages.php is writable at 777.

Here is a link to the error in the Subs-Packages php file : http://mmogamer.co.uk/index.php?action=admin;area=logs;sa=errorlog;file=L3Zhci93d3cvdmhvc3RzL21tb2dhbWVyLmNvLnVrL2h0dHBkb2NzL1NvdXJjZXMvU3Vicy1QYWNrYWdlLnBocA==;line=2534

Any clues on how to fix it :/

Thanks!

Exactly which mod are you attempting to use? I will try it on a test site and see if I can get it working with your theme.

Ah.

I don't think this is a mod problem, i think its my SMF. Any mod i install, installs sucessfully. Just the features dont become visible, its like i didnt even install it.

I tried this mod on a 2.0 emulated to RC5 and on an RC5 site with both the default Curve and Core themes. Once activated, I cant get anything to show up either. ?
Like Illori stated, it may be better to ask in the mod authors support topic.

Did you set the board up to use the mod?
If this is the one Im thinking of, not only must you set this up but it also only applies for new posts going forward.

Admin/Config/Mod Settings/Miscellaneous is where it is activated. No other settings from what I can find.

The screenshot you posted looks like it could be a permissions problem when deleting the cahce.

From FTP try removing all the files in the /cache/ directory exempt index.php & .htaccess.

What language are using? Have you tested to see if any of the mods work better on Curve?
Many mods only install to Curve - and may not work with all custom themes
