Can anyone explain to me how to stop guest from posting?
Just want them to be able to view and post on if registered.

Welcome to SMF, Mike.

Admin > Membergroups > Permissions > Guests > untick all boxes except for the few permissions you want a guest to have.

If you want one or more Boards invisible to Guests then Admin > Forum > Boards > Modify > again untick Guest box.

(Hope I've got that right as I haven't got a site in front of me at present) :)

Tried it There is no permissions in that section
only

Edit Membergroups | Add Membergroup | Settings
With stars on the right side of the the name.
