Please
Which mod did you install first?
I installed Are you a human mod and Anti bot registration puzzles, then i mistakenly deleted the Are you a human mod, which is now blocking people to register on my site
Download the 1.1.13 install package (http://download.simplemachines.org/?archive;version=58), and upload the template and source files to your forum. Try to uninstall all mods first.
Thats one of my problems, am not good at that, when i tried to edit the theme it didnt work, i didnt really learn how to edit the template, so i am lost here,
Do you have ftp access to your host account?
yes, if what you mean is the cpanel
You have to be able to upload files to your forum, which you should be able to do with cpanel. Download the 1.1.13 install package, unzip it, and upload the /Themes/default/ and /Sources/ files to the same directories on your forum.
Am trying now, am not really good at this i would tell you how its all goes on
I download it, but i dont know where the /Themes/default/ and /Sources/ are in this forum,i dont have any knowledge of this
I would have a look in /var/www/ or /var/www/html if its a linux install.
You need to extract the contents of smf to those directories mentioned and overwrite the old files.
wow thats a big problem, i use windows 7 home edition, i didnt install the smf myself, i only wanted to add mods to customize the site now, i dont know how to do this
Can't help you much with cpanel - never used it. If you can find ftp info, or request it from your host, I'll upload the files for you. Need ftp host, username, password. If you can get that, pm to me.
do you mean the cpanel or the forum, whichever please reply

Can you give me access to your cpanel?
if that would set this correctly, but i thought the problem would be from the forum itself, i havent touched the cpanel
- You have broken your forum by deleting the anti-spam mod without uninstalling it.
- To fix it, you have to replace the damaged files on the forum with clean files from the SMF install package.
- This requires downloading the install package from the SMF link I posted above to your computer, unzipping the .zip file, and uploading the template and source files to your server to replace the bad files.
- You can upload the files from your computer to the server with cpanel or an ftp client.
- I can do it for you if you can give me access to your cpanel or ftp access to your account.
Okay, thanks am very grateful for your help so far, i have sent it
You are wonderful it just worked how can i ever thank you
I replaced just the files that were changed by the mods. Everything else looks ok. Babylon theme was not damaged, so I left it as is. Also deleted two upgrade...sql files in your root - security risks, and you don't need them. Kick it around and make sure everything works.
Enjoy your forum!
okay, Thank you very much. is it okay for me to install the mods now, i want it to look a little bit like nairaland.com but with my own imaginative spirit, would it be possible
Am still having problems in the mod area, the mods are still there and if i try to uninstall them it says test failed you can check it out, i didnt do any other thing again so i would not damage the forum
You should have no problems installing the mods with the package manager. Nairaland.com is running an old version (1.0.12) that looks very much like the 1.1.13 Babylon theme.
I'll take a look.
okay, thanks, yeah nairaland is like that, there are still some mods which are still in the forum and looks like they are going to have a little problem when uninstalling
Ok, I cleared the anti-spam mod. Try installing your mods.
Okay, thanks let me try

the sql files are not a security risk as they can not be run without upgrade.php. as long as upgrade.php is not on the server the sql files are not a risk at all to be left behind.
Yes, thank you it works, now all i need to do is to remove the smf logo, and sign in with facebook and twitter, youtube mod, facebook like and twitter tweet mod, a mod for adsense, and something to make the home page look like naira land instead of the dates, board, and member names showing along with it, please can i get this mods here
Thx, Illori.
Before you do a lot of work on the forum, you should consider upgrading to 2.0.
will 2.0 be better and would the babylon theme also work there, i am unable to do that myself, but if you recommened it, since you have more experience than me in this stuff, i would follow your advice, if its what you recommend you can go on with it
babylon theme does not work for 2.0, but it has more default features and more mods being made for it.
okay, then if you guys approve it, i would be happy to use it on my forum, Thank you illori for coming to my help also, Krash what do you think
do you think its ok for the 2.0 to be installed on the site
2.0 is as stable as 1.1.14, if you want to use it or not is your choice. also please do not bump within 24 hours we are all volunteers.
okay, please can someone help me with upgrading to 2.0, please i would be very grateful, just saw that most mods accepts 2.0
take a look at Upgrading SMF (http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Upgrading) if you want someone to do it for you post in the help wanted board.
Help after a little while this was what i got "You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!" i dont think its normal
you need a temp folder in your packages folder and you can not run the large upgrade package in the package manager.
so what do you suggest i do, That means the only way to upgrade is through the cpanel and i dont know how to do that
I've replied to your thread in Help Wanted. Let's keep the discussion there.
