I have removed a lot of code from my files to simplify the appearance of my forum. So before I do an upgrade to a new version, I like to see what code will be changed to be sure I haven't removed it.
If I look at Admin > (more detailed) > Language Files, it indicates (in red) that index.english.php will be updated.
However, I am looking here to see what the 1.1.14 edits include:

And it doesn't indicate any edits to index.english.php.
Can someone explain this discrepancy?

there are usually no changes to the language files between versions like that. if you use the package manager upgrade that is all that will be changed is listed in that diff.
I'm sorry. I don't understand what you are saying.
It's the red text in the attached that I'm concerned about.
Are saying that index.english.php will not be edited?

Oh, now I see it says it's being upgraded to 1.1.13. Maybe that's left over from the last upgrade.
the language files have not been changed since the version you installed them at, as long as they work for you it is fine. the upgrade though the package manager will not touch the language files.
