Otsikko: Keyword Problem
Kirjoitti: alpheus - heinäkuu 08, 2011, 08:28:45 AP
hello everybody. I have a problem about keywords. I didn't blocked "ss" in my index.template but when I fixed a word that includes "ss" it is not visible. For example: My topic title is "hisse" when I look at the keywords it is being like that: "hi, e" What may I do please?

By any chance are you using German (Deutsche) language on your computer, server, or site? I'm wondering if lowercase ss is being automatically converted to the "eszett" (sharp S) ligature at some point in the process, but at the wrong encoding for your site (e.g., eszett in Latin-1, while the site is UTF-8). Uppercase SS should be left alone, if that's what's happening. Is this text being edited in, say, MS Word, and cut and pasted to your forum? That would result in corruption if there are any non-ASCII (accented) characters.

If this text was originally in UTF-8 (two bytes), and cut-and-pasted to a Latin-1 site, you'd see two odd characters. IIRC, keywords need to be in Latin-1 encoding, regardless of what the rest of the page is displayed in.
