Is there a relatively simple was of adding an extra text field to the registration form please?
I want to ask new registrants an additional question (multiple answers, not a bot question).
Thanks in advance.
If it's not already activated, please activate the Advanced Profile Fields option, you can do it in this way
AdminCP -> Core Features -> Advanced Profile Fields click the grey button and save
after activation this option, you can create new profiles field and with option Show on Registration, you can ask to fill it for the new members
AdminCP -> Features and Options -> Profile Fields

My apologies and thanks for your reply.

Thank you. Will this definitely work for 1.1.14?
LainaaCompatible With: 1.1.5, 1.1.8, 1.1.9
it should, you may need to use version emulation to install it though.

I've not done that before. Is there a tutorial?
Many thanks

Thanks again.
Well the installed worked relatively successfully with the version emulation in use but the mod itself is pretty much useless as the answer to the extra field I created doesn't appear in the new users profile despite having that option checked, so I'm basically unable to read their answer.
I just tested now and it works well
Be sure your coding for Profile.template.php is like here
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse;mod=319;attach=88169;smf_version=1.1.9
Edit: and be sure you checked this option Show in profile?

And it's still not working ? Are you sure, the theme you are using have no any custom Profile.template.php ?

A link to your site might be helpful
My site does have a custom 'CustomProfile.php', yes. Does this matter ?
I've PM'd you a link, thanks.
As i thought your Profile.template.php of your custom theme has no any codes regarding that mod,try to add necessary codes from here
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse;mod=319;attach=88169;smf_version=1.1.9
i tried to change ,but somehow it throws an error,if you want you could also attach your file,so i can have a look

I wonder which I checked then, I must have been looking at the wrong file, my apologies.
I've attached it but I'm sure it has the edits in place? I've removed the other themes for now to save confusion.
Thank you.
I would like to help about your problem, but somehow your site doesn't want to let me in,i just used proxy and it's very slow, but i can just say you better double check your coding manually
No problem I will try again with the manual codes, thank you for trying :)
