I have been having this annoying email issue for a long time now, but no one on this forum was able to help me.
My error log was always filled with email errors when i check every morning and it has been that way since last year! I don't know what to do to fix that. I asked before but no one knew how to fix the problem at its source. And now this problem has escalated to an extreme level and this morning i found my shared hosting account was suspended. Below is a quote of the email that i have received from my host about my account being suspended.

An account under your control was recently found to be sending out emails at a rate faster than 500 messages/hour. As outlined in both our Terms of Service and Mail Policies, the maximum number of messages an account is permitted to send is 500 per hour.
If your actions were unintentional and this incident was simply an oversight of our rules, you may have the option of throttling the emails, upgrading to a vps or dedicated servers. Continuing this type of mail volume on shared servers, however, will not be an option. The 500 mails/hour rule was put in place for our shared servers simply because it is important to us that they are not blacklisted. High volumes of mail from any account jeopardizes that goal.

if you are using 1.1.1* there is not much you can do, but in 2.0 there is a mail queue you can set to 500 per hour.
If you don't want to upgrade to SMF 2, you should use a mailer program such as PHPlist to send newsletters and other high-volume mail. It can be set to keep mail rates under specified "caps".
Add: you would need to manually export your members table as a CSV file, so PHPlist can read it to get email addresses.
