Title: WoW-DK 2.0
Post by: Akyhne on July 21, 2011, 02:48:29 PM
Link to the theme (https://custom.simplemachines.org/index.php?theme=2452)
Note! This is not originally my theme, so I'll let it stay on this site. All my other themes can still be downloaded from http://themes.e-debatten.dk

(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fthemes.e-debatten.dk%2Findex.php%3Faction%3Ddlattach%3Btopic%3D10.0%3Battach%3D45%3Bimage&hash=a7d22ee46e4ac89aa4ede699774b27c670f48674)

WoW-DK 2.0 is an old SMF 1 theme (http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=78) by padexx that has now been converted to SMF2. The theme is based on Yabb SE Next Gen (http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=2338)

This theme is for SMF 2.0+ only

October 2011:
! Please update to latest version as registration fields are very difficult to read in the previous download!
! Checkboxes could not be determined if they were checked or not in Opera 11.51

December 2011:
+ Added SMF 2.1 style drop down menu

Two new layouts have been added - Goblins & Worgen - which brings the total of available theme layouts to 13 variations.

Most of the old theme's icons and images have been enhanced and converted to .png
Because the theme is based on Yabb SE Next Gen, you have the ability to use .css buttons as well as the old WoW-DK buttons. This makes it convenient to use the theme in other languages, without having to create new buttons.
Please not that the buttons from the old themes (http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=78) will not work with this theme. Reason is that SMF 2 has more buttons, so I had to create some new ones. Therefore, I also chose to convert the buttons to .png files.

Important! When the theme is installed, you need to go to the theme options of the WoW theme. Browse to Admin -> Themes and Layout -> Theme Settings. Browse down to "WoW-DK 2.0 (2.0)" and click that link. It will take you to the specific theme options for that particular theme.
Browse down to "Theme Options and Preferences" -> "Show buttons as images instead of text:". You have 3 values of choice - 0, 1, & 2.
"0" will show .css buttons, "1" is not to be used with this theme, "2" will show the original WoW-DK buttons.
With the .css choice #1, you do not have to create your own buttons for your own language!

Hi,
I wish to have a custom header image instead of the one that comes up with theme. I have the picture and I think it requires a little editing, would you be able to do it for me if I attach the image?
Thanks

Okay, this is the image that came with it:

(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg580.imageshack.us%2Fimg580%2F1540%2Fheadvl.png&hash=b6bf54e0e15f2d27458f592b7a562beb1433b40a)

and I want to replace that WoW dude with this dude:

(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg818.imageshack.us%2Fimg818%2F808%2Fheaderpicn.jpg&hash=4ca86967507fcfe5afbf260585274406bc6ec370)
(Not the background of this image as it will not match properly with red background)

If there is anything you think you should add your self to make it look better, feel free. Surprise me D:

Thanks

Really nice Editing by the way but
Looks really odd, could you try making some changes?
I PMed you the site URL, as it's a private site.
Something doesn't seem right, could you try fixing it or making it look better?

Hi Akyhne,

I like the fact that you are trying, and to be honest It really really nice.
Just a small change if you are willing to make, could you please increase the height and width of the picture so the sword goes up to the slope (the part where outside part goes little down) and increase the height so the head covers up the whole red area.

If it was kinda hard to understand, Just let me know and ill create a screenshot and play around with the picture to show you an example

Thanks

The way the theme is made, it's not possible without some theme edits to make what you want. Besides, that image is a bit to small and compressed. It wouldn't look nice.

This is only other one I can find, same picture but I guess it's fine from the bottom. I think the top is meant to be like that.
Could you try something here? Thanks

You'll probably have to edit some css.
Check the demo site: http://themes.e-debatten.dk/

I saw the site, that's where I got the idea :)

The previous version had a TP version of this theme... I have no idea how that worked, but I'll give it a swing :) Thanks!

It really shouldn't be nessescary to make a special version for a portal mod.

Cool, my hosting provider installed it for us and I have to deal with the little weirdness like the little lines on the boxes. lol

Can you provide me with a blank "header.png" for the blue theme? :) Much appreciated!
Title: Re: WoW-DK 2.0
Post by: Akyhne on August 01, 2011, 10:12:13 AM
What lines?
Title: Re: WoW-DK 2.0
Post by: FireAllianceNX on August 01, 2011, 12:06:43 PM
There are these vertical border lines that I am guessing is suppose to be a box, but only fills for the padding of the box, and they only exists on the left and right side.
They appear on your demo site as well.
You can see the vertical lines under the "Themes" box and under "Stats" on the right panel.

You just need to edit the appropriate .css styles for the theme variations you want to use. You can do that directly from the admin center.

The code to edit the right and left blocks are:

div.tp_rightblock_body div.windowbg, div.tp_leftblock_body div.windowbg
{
border-left: 1px solid #9E853D;
border-right: 1px solid #9E853D;
}
div.tp_rightblock_body span.topslice, div.tp_rightblock_body span.botslice,
div.tp_leftblock_body span.topslice, div.tp_leftblock_body span.botslice
{
border-left: none;
border-right: none;
}
div.tp_rightblock_body span.botslice, div.tp_leftblock_body span.botslice
{
border-bottom: 1px solid #9E853D;
}

You can see the result on the demo site: http://themes.e-debatten.dk/index.php
Title: Re: WoW-DK 2.0
Post by: FireAllianceNX on August 01, 2011, 02:15:39 PM
I added that, but then I only get like a bracket on the bottom, something like |____|
I'll look at it more when I get home. :)
Thank you so much!

Oh, is it possible for you to provide me with the background header for the Human variation? I'm thinking of putting a customized logo. Thanks!
Title: Re: WoW-DK 2.0
Post by: Akyhne on August 01, 2011, 06:53:16 PM
You need to insert the code in the right place.

The header image actually concists of two images. You need to make the header.png as you want it first, then copy the bottom part to header2.png (from the horisontal line) It fits in size.
Title: Re: WoW-DK 2.0
Post by: FireAllianceNX on August 01, 2011, 08:58:25 PM
I had inserted the CSS in the Human variation, I see that its affecting the right blocks, but the outcome was different. I'm pretty sure I have it in the right place though. :/

Thanks for the files!

Remember to put it at the bottom of the .css sheet. It needs to overrule other stuff.

Do you have a link to the site?

www.sempervigilans.net

I changed the CSS a little bit, but now it's just a line on the bottom of the block. lol Which I am okay with -- I was getting box fever haha.
Title: Re: WoW-DK 2.0
Post by: Akyhne on August 01, 2011, 10:40:23 PM
Edit:
div.tp_rightblock_body div.windowbg, div.tp_leftblock_body div.windowbg
{
border-left: 1px solid #9E853D;
border-right: 1px solid #9E853D;
}

Replace with:
div.tp_rightblock_body div.windowbg, div.tp_leftblock_body div.windowbg, div.tp_rightblock_body div.windowbg2, div.tp_leftblock_body div.windowbg2
{
border-left: 1px solid #9E853D;
border-right: 1px solid #9E853D;
}

Post by: FireAllianceNX on August 02, 2011, 12:44:33 PM
Thanks! That and I added a border-top to get the line up there too. :D You rock!

I have another visual thing to ask though lol
Is there any reason when using the CSS buttons, that when I hover over the button (it highlights), and the bottom corners are square instead of round like the top corners?
Title: Re: WoW-DK 2.0
Post by: Akyhne on August 02, 2011, 06:42:53 PM
No, it's not supposed to be that way. But you are as you said using the image css buttons instead of the buttons originally for the theme. Read the "Important" note in the first post in this topic.

I'll fix the highlight issue and if you want to use the image buttons, go to Admin -> Current theme and select "Show buttons as images instead of text".
You need to set the value to '2' instead of '0'.

If you do not want to use the image buttons, you'll have to wait until I have fixed the style sheets in all themes. A new theme file will then be uploaded to the theme site.

I really appreciate all the help. I thought I was being helpful in letting you know some of the little things that I noticed. I apologize if I have became burdensome.

Hi!

The theme itself is great - GJ dude!

But I am having problems installing or using some mods with it. For instance, buttons aren't showing up and so. The buttons are there for all the other, standard, themes.

I believe this might be because you choose the race you want to see.

I installed the theme first and then the mods.
A mod I tried:
Gamer IDs
(Another mod might have been "auto merge double posts" if I am not mistaken, were the installation spoke out some warnings/errors, but I am not 100%ly certain about it)

Any ideas?

Personal idea: Could it maybe work if...somehow the race I want to have gets "extracted" and installed as a single theme like all other themes around?

Unfortunally I don't think I have the knowledge to do so.
There aren't any chances you would do this for me then? :(

But if you do, you might want to do this for every single race because I might be not the only one with those problems.

In each theme you can add the information for the services, but they aren't shown up at the profile.

They should show up in the profile and under the name and information of each user when he does a posting.

I added two SS, one with the SMF default theme and one with WOWDK.

Please tell me if you have any further questions.

.. and they do show up as I wrote. You just have to enable the theme when installing the mod.

What do you mean by "to enable the theme"?

//Nvrmnd, got it. I thought it would install automatically for all installed themes.
Many thanks!

If a theme uses a custom template where a mod needs to edit code, then you need to check the theme when installing the mod - as you figured out :)

I am not sure, but I think I found a really bug this time.

If I use the color BBC it seems the news are getting behind the date:

news code:
[color=red][b]You MUST read and accept our clan rules: http://hwguide.ch/mlnw/forum/index.php?topic=4.msg9#new[/b][/color]

It seems to work fine with the default theme. Not that it is suuuuch a big issue.

The text input fields during registration (user's email, password, secret questions, etc.) are very difficult to read.  Can the CSS be modified to make them more readable?  Right now, you can barely tell you have typed in any text due to the color scheme.
Title: Re: WoW-DK 2.0
Post by: Basinator on October 21, 2011, 10:49:28 PM
I am not sure if this error comes from this theme directly but I guess it does....

In the registration form in my forums, when used WOW DK as default theme, the fields for the passwort and openID remain blank. I mean, white characters with white backgrounds. It prevented to 2 ppl now to use my forums :P

I like the updates.  One issue that makes this not work for me is that if you sticky a topic or lock a topic everything works fine.  If you want to sticky and lock a topic at the same time the entire thread goes white and you cannot read it.  Not sure what is going on but if you enable both actions to a threat the background goes white.

A fix to this would be fantastic.

It has been fixed in the latest release.

I redownloaded the newest version and I found out that it was not fixed .... I had to go into the index_Orc.css file and darken up the stickybg, stickybg2, lockedbg and lockedbg2 areas to a darker color for the background ...... also, I was having the same type of problem in SMF Arcade with viewing high scores and I had to change the windowbg3 background color to a darker color also, In which I used #848284 in all these areas in the Orc Theme. I take it that I will have to do the same thing to the rest of the index css other ones but ..... ill do that another day.

Hi!

For me it has been fixed. At least the PW thingy, the field with openID still stays "blank", but I don't think my users will need that anyways, just wanted to let you know about it.

However, I installed the new version while I still had the old version installed because of the options I configured, and now ppl can select 2 WOW DK themes in their layout preferences. I even disabled that people can select the 2nd theme in their options, but it is still showing up. Ideas?

Orc theme open ID fix ( unofficial ), this small code fixed my login problem with open ID ( not reg ) , just thought other would like to know .... basically, just replace the white with #848284.

  WOW2 , CSS, Index_orc.css

find:
.openid_login
{
background: white url(../images/openid.gif) no-repeat;
padding-left: 18px;
}

replace with
.openid_login
{
background: #848284 url(../images/openid.gif) no-repeat;
padding-left: 18px;
}

You should only have one version of the theme installed. Remove the new one and replace the files with the new one from here.

It's really described on the download page of the theme and in the first post of this topic:

QuoteImportant!
