Otsikko: Board permissions
Kirjoitti: Aeroprism - heinäkuu 28, 2011, 05:37:46 IP
Hi guys!

I'm still learning how everything works and I have this question for you experts.

As I go and set my board permissions, I see Global and Local.  What's the difference between these two?

For now, I use local on everything, I manually set every permission on every board for every membergroup.  Complete control but wow, so much work!  Is there an easier way?

Thanks!

dont use local permissions unless the permissions are different then the default that the member groups have already.

Then how do I set the board-by-board preferences for a single group?

you only need to set them when they vary, you never said in your first post that you need them to vary for every board.

you might find the profiles easier to manage that is a default feature in 2.0.

Ooh, and can I update to 2.0 easily?  Do I need to restart my whole database?

Thanks btw, very helpful.
