So, I've read over some peoples topics posted, and the resolutions did not help me. I tried clearing my cache, browsing history, and cookies. Tried to log into my site as admin using Chromium, FireFox, and Opera (Ubuntu Linux versions) and I tried this on other computers with various browsers using multiple OS' on multiple networks, so I don't think this is a local issue. I believe I may have changed something in the settings, but I cannot remember what and my backups have overwritten the most recent working version (well over a month ago from what I can remember). I am pretty savvy with using MySQL, so if this is a database resolution, just point me in the right direction, please. I've checked my configuration file, even went as far as placing the files on one server and the database on a different one, while I was pretty sure this wouldn't work, I tried anyway with no avail. What could have been changed? Should I remove the installation of SMF and this time go with 2.x (latest) or does anyone know a fix? I've attached a screenshot after a successful log in (by the way, when I log in correctly and click on a link, it logs me out, then I try to log in again, and I get the subject error).
Steps for replication are as follows:
Navigate to my site -> login, if successful, it takes me to the home page, then I notice I'm no longer logged in, so I try to log in again, and it gives the subject error.
Normal browser:
Chromium
OS:
Ubuntu 11.04 x64
Database configuration:
Remote and localhost with synchronization between the two, other information about this, not mentioning.
In the screenshot, you will notice the URL, so I hope this helps.
You may be dealing with more than one problem. The error message in your topic title will occur if you try to log in with session length set to the default 60 min. It's a bug in 1.1.1x - you can fix it by changing the default login length in Server Settings. While you're there, try changing the cookie name.
I am so sorry for not replying sooner, I kept running into other issues so I thought I'd be a good site owner and keep my script up to date. I am now using v2.0 :)
