Hi All,
Move my forum's server transferred all files OK, but the uploaded avatars and attachments will not display.
Is there anything I need to do to make the attachments directory work having move server.

have you run What is repair_settings.php? (http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Repair_settings.php) ? have you browsed the admin panel to manual reset the path?

Yes all reset and the attachments maintance program will even let you maintain the directory and browse the files. The only thing that does not happen is the individual files are not displays :)
I had the same trouble with the forum I maintain - we had to change server recently, and while all the files were uploaded, pretty much all of the avatars (with the odd exception) just showed up as a broken image.
I ran repair_settings.php and double checked all the paths but that didn't help.
HOWEVER in my case it turned out to be my FTP program using the wrong data transfer type - by default SMF uses files with no extension type, this made my ftp program detect them as as ascii files, which screwed up the download and upload.
I changed my ftp settings to upload in binary mode and the avatars started showing up again

This would be the most common cause to this kind of trouble. FileZilla specially likes to do this.
