It is built in for SMF 2.0.
Go to edit membergroups and edit the available group or create a new group and specify their color.
Color in online list: <put your color here>
Note: If the group is new, "Color in online list:" will not appear until your gave name to it first.

You do know that only applies to the Who's Online list on the main index page right? :P

But i cant change Administrators color.

Click the Modify link next to the membergroup you want to change in Admin > Membergroups.
To change it globally, and not just in the Who's Online area, install the Member Colour Link mod.
