where would i find the font colour for the categories so i can change the colour
SMF v1.x: style.css, in your theme's directory.
SMF v2.x: index.css, in your theme's "css" directory.
Those files have quite good REM statements, so the section you want should be fairly easy to find. :)
thanks i changed the colour but what does the bit i am pointing to come under i want the orange bit blue but what does it come under
No idea, I'm afraid.
I could find out in the same way that you could, though.
A bit of trial and error.
Read my sig, before you do that, though, woncha?
you have a thread already where you asked this question, please do not open more then one thread one the issue, i have deleted your other thread.
i know i did but i thought i opened it in the wrong place before because no one answered. so i seen coding and thought they might be the best place.
no this is a graphics issue, not a coding problem.
Or, coding for graphics.
Bit ambiguous, that. I sure would've put it here, to be honest.
I'm just about to fiddle around and see if I can figure this one out, Monkey.
Gimme a while... ;)
i will give you a hint, it is an image not color or text.
css is text. :P
that is not what i mean :P silly.
OOO...
That's norty.
Some of the colours only have three or four figures, instead if six...
OK. Just thinking out-loud, here...
I suspect it has to be this bit:
/* the active button */
.dropmenu li a.active
{
background: url(../images/theme/menu_gfx.png) no-repeat 100% 0;
color: #fff;
font-weight: bold;
}
The colour's in hex, but only three digits, which is weird, to me.
I'm gonna fiddle with it and report back. :)
no it is not the color there, it is the background ;) as i said above it is an image.
Bugger...
If it's an image, how come you can't right-click>Save image as?
because it is set with css and not in the source code
Ha! Figured it out!
In the theme's "images">"theme" directory, get menu_gfx.png.
At the top of that graphic, you'll see an orange stripe.
Change that orange to the colour you want.
:)
yep that is one way to change it dont forget the on hover color for the blue may need to be changed in that file as well.
how would i change that with notepad++ or just change the colour myself then upload it
you need to either delete that line or edit the image with an image editor.
thanks i thought i did but wanted to be sure. thanks for all the help. i know it seems i am asking lots but i feel like i am getting use to it now
No sweat!
We all asked a lot of questions, when we started. :)
