Hi,
I've been reinstalling SMF a couple of times in a testing environment and I noticed that some settings don't seem to come with the mysql export file.
For example, the license agreement shown when a user registers to the forum, isn't updated.
How is that possible? Is it normal?
regards,
richardwbb
The license agreement is stored in a file called agreement.txt in your main SMF directory. You can edit it either by editing that file or from the admin center (Admin -> Registration -> Registration Agreement in 1.1, Admin -> Members -> Registration -> Registration Agreement in 2.0).
Ouch, I should have been able to find that.
Are there more settings/ stuff located in files besides Settings.php?
Also, I noticed that some theme specific settings get lost with importing the database, e.g. it puts some settings to the paths of the old provider.
Is this normal behaviour? I'll manage to record the required changes but I reckon it should not work like this?
p.s. I also just noted that when I import a more recent version of the database from the old provider, this time including unread posts, it shows after the import like I have read all post, which isn't the case?
I do not understand.

Because in the database are old paths for smilies, attachments, themes etc.You must fix manually via ACP
1.Themes>Themes and Layout then Attempt to reset all themes
2.Attachments and avatars... path to Attachments directory, fix it manualy
3.Smileys...path and base url to all smiley sets, fix it manualy
All information are located in Settings.php
Ok, I finally understand, been searching here and there and SMF is a complex beast. I like it!
p.s. The unread posts are moved to 'show all unread posts' when the database is imported on the new location. So that is normal behaviour :)
