When I go to my domain name it goes to an "index of/" page. From there you have to click the "forum" file to go to the forum index page.
I am unsure how to fix this.
What I would like to have it do, is go directly to the forum page when the domai is entered, and not have to click the forum folder from the index of/ page that appears....
and oh yea....I am so a noooooob. (as if that needed to be said lol)
Thanks!
The web domain is www.jfkassassinationtruth.com
Using an FTP client, move all of the files out of the "forum" directory into the main directory, then run repair_settings.php to fix the URLs and paths (see What is repair_settings.php? (http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Repair_settings.php)).
Alternately, you can put this index.php file in your main directory to send everyone directly to the forum:
<?php
header('HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently');
header('Location: http://www.jfkassassinationtruth.com/forum/index.php');
?>
Thanks for your help!
I moved the files from the folder into the main directory as you said, and uploaded and ran repair_settings, and no luck.
If you go to www.jfkassassinationtruth.com you will see the files page.
However, if you go to http://www.jfkassassinationtruth.com/index.php you will see the forum.
I am not understanding why I am not getting to the forum via www.jfkassassinationtruth.com.
you would need to ask your host or check for any .htaccess files and remove them. this would be a hosting configuration issue most likely.
Or if can edit your .htaccess...

That looks like a winner!
The access had the forum/index.php still in it, and since I did away with that folder.......well.....yanno.....
Thanks I really appreciate the help!
