Hi all. Suddenly without warning yesterday my site stopped working. No idea why. The archive version of the site works, but the main site yields nothing except a warning message that reads:
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.
The site is jackulator.com if that helps.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong here? Was I hacked or something?
I get a 500 error which is an internal server error. Have you checked with your host about your server? Your main page works just fine, but everything SMF seems to produce the 500 error.
If you have access via FTP check all,maybe is something added to the root and check settings.php parameters (database, forum url etc)
I tried a fresh install of the newest SMF forum and when I'm asked by install.php for the database information I get the following error:
"!! Critical Error!
Cannot connect to the database server with the supplied data.
If you are not sure about what to type in, please contact your host.
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)"
so if a fresh install can't connect to the database -- that might give some kind of insight into what's going on here
have you contacted your host about this?
yeah.. they tested PHP and MySQL and said there were no errors, so I guess that points to a glitch in the actual coding of the PHP files that make up the forum
however, I uploaded the ones that worked from a few days ago and got the same result
I told the host that, and they said something about my IP being pointed to the wrong place, and that they fixed it, and it would take a while for the change to 'propagate'... we'll see I guess
