Hi, bit of, well a lot of a novice and a pretty dumb question probably.
How do i move the login/replies/unread off my banner ? it would be better below it rather than on it.
Thanks
Hi, Yoozy! Welcome!
It depends, I guess, on how you got the banner there.
Can you give us a link, so we can see?
Certainly can.
www.tuonoworld.com
A friend set the forum up for me and its going great but I'm trying to do some maintenance myself.
Thanks
Basically, whoever made the banner has made it too wide.
If you resize it, so that it's the right width, it should be OK.
Want it to look like this (http://www.packsearchers.com)?
Thanks for the replies.
Ideally everything would be under the banner on one line. The banner is pretty much fixed at that size because of the amount of stuff on there, ie the world/bikes and wording. One of the problems is that a lot of the lads, me included like to look in on mobile phones on the go, so that makes space even tighter.
That red/grey theme is cool btw.
You should be able to set banner width="100%" so it doesn't run off the right side and cause a horiz scroll. I don't see a user info/login panel in your header, just a search widget and date/time. There's an unlabeled input field in the middle below the banner - wtf is that? Can you edit a screencap to show what you want?
Wowww, this is already way to technical for me. I don't know how to resize the banner and I definitely wouldn't know where to start with 'unlabeled or screencap'. Blimey.
I'd love to show my friend I can do it though, he thinks I'm thick too :)
Can you attach your index.template.php?

Can you access your server account via ftp?
That's the whole problem, I just don't know what all these codes are :-[
A complete novice. If I had some pointers I could probably manage it, but you'd have to treat me like a 6 month old baby with a typewriter ;D
You must be able to upload/download files to/from the host account where your forum is running, with an ftp client such as FileZilla. There's a template editor in the forum Admin section, but it's not really useable. If you screw up a code edit in index.template.php even a little bit, it can crash your forum. Not something you'd really want to attempt from where you're standing.
That's what I feared. I'm just not up to it, and I don't want to damage the forum. At least I tried though :)
Thanks for helping 8)
If you want someone here to do it for you, you'd have to give them ftp access (servername, username, password), which is not a good idea if you just got here and don't know who's who.
Hah, my friend who set the forum up for me has obviously been reading this because mysteriously overnight everything is perfect ;D
