I don't agree. I opened the javascript doc that came with the mod and set '600' to '1'. Now the spoiler opens almost instantly.

Thank you for the mod.

I would like to make it 2x bigger, with a dark background and white font but not sure of myself when changing code without guidance just yet.

Thanks for any help

Hi, after i installed this mods, immediately my auto image re-size mods (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1769) is not functioning >.< The images just simply wont auto re-size itself . No matter the images were in the spoiler or not, it somehow just like not functioning.

Description: Hide any content of a message...
C'mon mehn you can do better than that - Give a better description, there are noobs here u know?
Stumbled upon this while looking for a Mode to Lock my Forum posts ONLY from guest viewing.. So it requires registration or login to read forum post.
If this mod doesn't do that"HIDE ANY CONTENT OF A MESSAGE" which isn't very clear what you mean
Do recommend a Mod that can do what i stated above
Title: Re: BBC Spoiler SMFSimple

It's not for that purpose, it's just to hide the content until you want to see it... So that you don't give away spoilers unless people want to read them.

Hiding stuff from guests is a bad idea, not only does it put potential members off from joining (because people just go elsewhere) it also hurts SEO because guests includes search engines... And if you hide from guests, you hide from search engines which hurts users finding your site.
Title: Re: BBC Spoiler SMFSimple
Post by: briggz5d on January 26, 2012, 04:38:46 AM
Google and other search engine crawlers can easily be granted access to pages that need Authentication - I don't wanna lock the whole forum - Only certain areas
Title: Re: BBC Spoiler SMFSimple
Post by: Arantor on January 26, 2012, 05:18:36 AM
But if you hide content from guests but show search engines, you'll get penalised. Spoilers are not designed to hide content from people who shouldn't see it in the sense of being encouraged to sign up, it's more for discussions like in TV shows, where you don't want to give away secrets except to people who *want* to see, so that if they're a few episodes behind, you won't spoil it for them when discussing current events.

Ok, i noticed after i use this spoiler mod, my youtube as well as other embed function seem to be not working in the spoiler. Can anyone know how to fix it? Normally, i just direct copy the youtube link onto it, then the video will be shown, but then after installed this mods, it only show the link but not the video >.<

The auto embed mod i used is Simple Audio Video Embedder (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=395039.0)

Can someone please, please help. I want to make the button 2x bigger, color 375576 and font white so it all matches my forum.

.spoiler_head
{
    margin: 2px 0 2px 0;
    background-color: #F1F1F1;
    cursor: pointer;
    position: relative;
    display: inline-block;
    padding: 2px 5px 2px 5px;
    color: #666;
    text-align: center;
    font: bold 12px Calibri, Verdana, Ariel, sans-serif;
    border: 1px solid #D1D9DF;
    border-radius: 5px;
}
.spoiler_body
{
    margin:0;
    display:none;
    width: auto;
    padding: 5px;
    color:#666;
    background-color:#F1F1F1;
    border: 1px solid #D1D9DF;
    border-radius: 5px;
}

I've tried changing what I thought would be the right code but no go, it's still small, grey, black font.  Guess I still suck at this!  :P  Any help would be appreciated!

The background: background-color: #F1F1F1;
Ex: background-color: yellow;

The width and height you can use something like this
width: 100px;
height: 15px;

Ex:

You need to edit the file: Sources/Subs-editor

Search:

array(
'image' => 'spoiler',
'code' => 'spoiler',
'before' => '
',
'after' => '
',
'description' => $txt['des_spoiler']
),

And remove...

ENGLISH
Do you know any mod that can be configured to manage topics and replies based on the thumbs up or down topics and replies receive? More or less, like the Youtube comments.

So you can set automatic actions:
the post/reply with more thumbs up, goes to the top of the day posts/top of the replies within the post;
more than xxx thumbs up, it turns into an sticky post/correct reply for a post;
more than xxx thumbs down, it gets hidden with a spoiler thing;
more than xxx thumbs down, it goes to the bottom of the day posts and remains hidden/bottom of the replies within a post and remains hidden.;
more than xxx thumbs down, it goes to a previously created recicle bin section.

SPANISH
Alguien conoce de algun mode que maneje los posts y respuestas automaticamente basandose en las pulgares arriba o abajo que reciba el post o respuesta? Mas o menos como los comentarios en Yotube.

Asi, se pueden configurar acciones automaticas:
el post o respuesta con más pulgares arriba, se va al top de los posts del dia o respuestas del post;
mas de xxx pulgares arriba, se convierte en un sticky;
mas de xxx pulgares abajo, se esconde con uno de esos spoilers;
mas de xxx pulgares abajo, se va a final de los posts del dia o de las respuestas del post;
mas de xxx pulgares abajo, se lo manda a una previamente creado foro de reciclaje.

so it's like:

and you click on "Title"...which is a spoiler

Hello, thank you for this mod!  :)

Seems to work fine, but for some odd reason, by default the hided content always is shown up. I modified it a bit, but it was pure CSS changes, so I don't think it can affect much of the functionality of this add-on.

Any help with this?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Fixed it. I forgot to add "display:none;" for the "spoiler_body" class in index.css.

After updating my SMF to 2.0.2 the spoiler becomes buggy..

When I used
Test
the spoiler works perfectly fine with post/preview, but in the actual post; no spoiler shown.

The best that you can do is search in

./Themes/default/languages/Modifications.YOURLANGUAGE.php

$txt['spoiler'] = 'Show content';

and change it for
$txt['spoiler'] = 'Show/Hide content';
