1. I want to add rank avatars instead the rank stars, but it won't work for me. (Please help me with this)
2. If i want to add my own profile avatar it says this: An Error Has Occurred! The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved. ( Please help me with this)

Try settings directory to 755 permission.
Also please don't use such effects on text. My eyes are feeling burnt :P.
in what way does your "rank avatars" not work? what have you done? with no details we can guess all day and not know what your problem is.
Well there's rank image's to edit you staff group.
Like the stars (star.gif) but i want to put an own avatar in it, like a owner avatar instead the stars.
And i just made the forum without a download just on the website to create one.
so can you guys help me to use my own rank avatars in: Star image filename:

Well, i just putted my avatar URL over there, but it wont show up. Just a Red X .
I won't work in that fashion.
Pick up a image, and place it in following directory
- theme\default\images
Now just put the image name in the image text field in membergroup.

I'm using the newest version and i can't find that way what you just said.

Can you see folders in right hand window. See if there is public_html folder open it and try to surf up to "theme\default\images" and place your images over there.
Do i need to open the client, or just the forums to edit it?

It is similar to how you must have uploaded files for your forum while installing it.

Can be same as your cpanel details or better ask your host about it.

Do you have cPanel access to your site? If so, you can create an FTP user to use with the client you installed. If none of this makes sense, you should really get in touch with your host for help on getting you access to your site.
Cpanel is the administrator panel right? To add page's and stuff?
no cpanel is a hosting control panel provided to you by your host.

You might do better getting support from the smfnew people. Just a suggestion. I don't believe that smfnew is supported here.
i think they are just calling it smfnew not actually hosting with smfnew
If you have cpanel then uploading an image can be done through that if you are having problems with the ftp client. Cpanel would be a lot easier to use then an ftp client for a beginner.
