Hi, Dom. Welcome to the forum.
I'm not sure what you mean, with that.
Do you mean a picture like...
<------------ That one?
No k, where it says Doc Writer, Thank you for the welcome.
that is a "star" or as we call it around here a badge, you can add them when you edit the membergroup and it tells you on that page where you should put them, in your themes images folder

Like this. ^^
Some of it you can still see and before the admin there is a a picture before the admin but i don't want that and the bit of writing at thend.
Here is the code:
<a href="http://media.photobucket.com/image/forum rank/torusatu/Metal_Forum_admin.png?
I know i have a admin in the gfx designer it was just a test..
put the image on your server in the correct location and it will work. dont rely on free image hosts when you have a real host.
Yes, i have uploaded it into themes. I copy the admi.png into the star and it does not work?
you put in the image name and it does not work? then you dont have it in the right folder, put it in the folder for your theme not the themes folder.
Lol, ive tried everything uploading it in the theme folder then in the theme > image folder Admi.png i put in the star and still not working... >:(
This will be a theme-by-theme thing.
Start by putting a copy in Themes/default/images
You may need to put it in Themes/<theme_name>/images for every single theme. Or not. I am not certain on this one....
Then:
In ?action=admin;area=membergroups;sa=edit;group=1
You will see [g]Star image filename:[/b] {theme URL}/images/ and then an empty box.
You fill in just the file name (admi.gif, or whatever it is called).
Hit "tab" and you'll see the little image to the right of the box change
For example: if you put bdaycake.gif in that box, you'll see the badge turn into a birthday cake before you even hit "save"
GIF, not png. It doesn't seem to like png files.
it does not matter what type of image it is png or gif either or both should work just fine.
I tested this out on one of my forums, and the png image just plain didn't work as a star, but the GIF image did work.
the badges here are png so they do work, maybe the image you used was corrupted.
If you're overwriting an existing file, it needs to be the same file extension...
No good replacing a gif with apng, if the code's not changed to accommodate that. (Obviously).
Or, have I missed something?
yes you missed the part about putting the image name in the space for stars where you can put any image name and file type there.
Ah.
Does Dom know that, with the interwebz, case IS critical?
Maybe they're using "PNG", when they should be using "png"?
Worth checking?
