I searched the boards but can't find anything relating to this so just wondered if some skillful coder might be able to create a mod that would enable being able to (either temporarily or permanently) automatically replace the avatars of members who haven't logged in or possibly posted (options in a potential mod?) for a specified length of time or even at set periods. Possibly following an automated email warning them this is going to happen? Maybe this would select from a customizable list of avatars (grouped in a separate folder?) which obviously every different forum could use different ones as they wish. I guess some sort of admin input would be needed before the process was carried out, so maybe a necessary step would be to have some sort of list of relevant members with checkboxes that admin could select/deselect for the action to be carried out.
Related to this, for the same reasons I would like a mod as above, could there be a mod (or option to the above if it can be done) that alters a posters ranking based on how often they login/post rather than just how many posts, but I would imagine that might be a difficult one to achieve; however if it is possible if it could be linked to the avatar displayed as well. For example you could have a gradually decaying avatar, or one that goes slowly from colour to black and white, or a picture of a beautiful girl replaced in stages by steadily less beautiful ones, or the avatar starts to flash slowly at first and then faster and faster until it is invisible, or whatever else might fit the subject of your forum. A set number of logins/posts within a set time frame could then reset the original avatar. I guess the permission for members to have avatars would have to be fiddled with automatically as well if that is possible.
I use the latest SMF (2.0.1) so obviously I would like any possible mod for that version, but hopefully it might be one that could work for older versions too if others were interested. Of course some clever bod might already have come up with something like this but if they have can anyone point me to where I can find it? Thank you in advance.
