2. Activate in admin: Configuration--->Modification Settings---->Miscellaneous.
3. Select boards you wish to use as blog in 'Modify Boards' area.
4. Make board "Read-Only".

You know there is a variable for local testing:

var disqus_developer = 1; // developer mode is on

What do you mean by quick reply?   The boards in which you use disqus supposed to be set to 'read only'.

<script type="text/javascript">
    /* * * CONFIGURATION VARIABLES: EDIT BEFORE PASTING INTO YOUR WEBPAGE * * */
    var disqus_shortname = 'mntlb'; // required: replace example with your forum shortname

    /* * * DON'T EDIT BELOW THIS LINE * * */
    (function () {
        var s = document.createElement('script'); s.async = true;
        s.type = 'text/javascript';
        s.src = 'http://' + disqus_shortname + '.disqus.com/count.js';
        (document.getElementsByTagName('HEAD')[0] || document.getElementsByTagName('BODY')[0]).appendChild(s);
    }());
</script>

In reading the install section of the mod, when said: right before the closing </body> tag in the index.php for the code above, I looked and didn't see this at the bottom of my index.php file. Maybe I'm missing something in the instructions or trying to put it in the wrong file related to my forum. The mod loads, looks great and works but will not retain the post for later view. Loaded a lot of test post yesterday and checked back today and nothing was there except the post count and the mod. Thanks for sharing this MOD and your support with my issue. note: I use it from within the ADK Portal installed on my forum.

I wished this mod worked without a 3rd party. I tried it anyway and love it but it doesn't integrate well with the forum when you have to use other logins where your login credentials are different than the forum such as name.

Is this possible to do, it would be awesome! (using forum login)

I have to agree Jeff, great mod and very useful but easy intergration would be nice. In other words, whatever login used will automatically register members into the forum the mod is used on.

there is some issue with this mod..it is very random. I get mail notification that a comment has been posted to topic via DISQUS but sometimes i cant see it if there are already comments done via Forum members (not using DISQUS members) .
Also i have not made the board as read only because i need have both SMF comments and DISQUS comments.

Any help on this ? I am using SMF 2.0.1 .the latest version.

Any way to get this just as a general chat on say the main forum itself and not in every single thread?

you can set it per board basis. Admin---> modify board

I can't install this mod. All I get is this Database error:

Invalid default value for 'disqus_board_enable'
File: /srv/www/vhosts/isriga.lv/httpdocs/forum/Packages/temp/installDisqusdatabase.php
Line: 24

Tried installing it on SMF 2.0.2 and 2.0.4. Any ideas what's wrong?

Thanks

Not sure. Other than the Disqus API is outdated.

I need to update this mod.

The mod page shows you when it was last updated. This one says February 01, 2013, 08:52:21 PM so it hasn't been updated yet.

I installed the mod, and it works, but it creates new discussions because of variations in the URLs.  How can I keep one discussion for a thread?

Hello,

I had installed the mod without any issues and created profile in Disqus. After that I had created new category and modify to "read only" as it says in tutorial for installation. At the end there are no options on topics to use Disqus.

Any way/idea how to solve this?
Thanks!

Just letting you all know that the mod still installs and works on the latest version of SMF 2.0.19 at the date of this post.
