For those who haven't heard, Google finally launched pages for their Google+ social network. Not one to be behind in the social media front, I went ahead and created an SMF page :)

Thank you, Oldies. :)

That one is for the organization (Simple Machines) itself and was created by Kindred. The one I created is just for SMF :)
Congrats! BTW, anyone else noticed that in SM.org's main page the link is pointing to gplus.to, and not http://gplus.to/SimpleMachinesForum? ;)
it points to https://plus.google.com/108050083330054948623/posts for me, not gplus.to
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/110/gplus.png
When I hover the gplus link on Google Chrome, you can see the link in the bottom right corner, it does not show the full link (it shows gplus.to), and takes me to http://gplus.to, not to https://plus.google.com/108050083330054948623/posts
If only SMF's "cut off the text after x characters" thing was more intelligent :P
I've sent a message to SleePy asking him to increase the text cutoff limit by 20 characters or so to prevent that from happening. If you scroll further down the page though, there is a direct link to the page.
Well, I think that if links are being cut-off, the link text (doesn't matter if it's a word, sentence or an address) should be cut, but the link, even if half of it is shown, should still link to the full address.

It is a good decision to get a page on Google+. It helps a lot in different ways .. congrats ... :)
The Google+ link, together with all the other social stuff is on the front page of the site.
I noticed this when I got on my pc today.
Same with me
On the home page, under short news of this topic, who has writen http://gplus.to... ? the link is expecting /SimpleMachinesForum
and when I click on it, the page refer me to gplus.to page while the correct must be http://gplus.to/SimpleMachinesForum.

Goodie, smf on GooglePlus
Hi Oldiesmann,
Good work. Added on google+ also.
i just join http://gplus.to/SimpleMachinesForum... thanks.
I have registered Google+ just now.
add me on http://gplus.to/TomyTran ;)
I' add today
What are the real benefits for using Google+ ?
Advertising on social network and SEO matter.
well, it has nothing (at all) to do with SEO... but google+ is trying to compete with facebook as a social networking platform... So, just as we have facebook and twitter pages, we also have added a Simple Machines Forum page on Google+
(side note: we also have a google+ page for the organization, Simple Machines as well as the project Simple Machines Forum - they are two separate (although related) things.)
SMF also has a profile on facebook?
Yes
It is nice to see SMF on google, But it seems that on there is no activity seen after Jan 5, 2012. I always see your post in google+.
Thanks a lot.
Thanks for the information and I will check it on Google.+
John
We could really do with +1 button on every smf topic to rate the best ones.
Hmm, I'm not sure +1 is entirely the best way of doing that. Mind you, I'm not sure that any of the other (Twitter/FB) solutions are any better, I just rolled my own.
it's lack of info on gg+ from this brand.
Hi , I am new here. Happy to know about Google plus smf page. Will be joining soon too.
Added :)

You can't start a new topic in this board if you're a regular user. Other boards on this forum do, however, allow you to start a new topic. Just click the relevant button on top right hand corner of the board in question :).
i dont like G+, its not like FB

Thank you Oldiesmann :)

Already added in my circle, thank you :-*
Minor update to this. Google is apparently slowly rolling out custom URLs for pages and select famous people, so we can now be found at http://www.google.com/+smfforum :)
Thank you,
Cool- I'll add SMF to my circles, though I am honestly not all that good at G+ yet.
Found you guys :)
Thank you. Now i already use Google+, I will learning it. ???
Google+1 too :)
I figured out why I thought I was blocked. Anti-malwarebytes was actively blocking the site. Just thought I would put this out there in case anyone else had the same issue.
