Title: [Theme] Simple Blue for 1.0.5
Post by: 1MileCrash on August 17, 2005, 07:21:34 PM
There is basically no header, all of the info boxes have been moved to te side. There is also an "html box" that allows you to add your own content to the side.

Live Demo (http://paintplayers.com/smfthemes/index.php?;theme=17)

I really hate looking stupid, but I can't seem to figure out HOW to download this theme.

I AM new to these boards (and SMF in general), but all the other themes have a link where you can download the theme. I can't seem to find it for this theme.

Also, the demo page doesn't show the same theme as the thumbnail shows.
Title: Re: [Theme] Simple Blue
Post by: 1MileCrash on September 07, 2005, 05:41:18 PM
my boards have the default overriding the other themes right now. That's why.

The download is attatched to the first post  ;)

dont feel stupid about that.....ALOT of people have the same problem with that.

Perhaps we can make a mod to make attatchments stick out more.  :P

Hello, something BAD has happened to my forum.

I installed this theme, then made it a default.

This is the error message I got ON EVERY PAGE:

Quote2: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/www/virtual/astralqueen.byethost5.com/htdocs/smf/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code:614)
File: /var/www/virtual/astralqueen.byethost5.com/htdocs/smf/Sources/Subs.php
Line: 1704

I cannot change the skin. No matter what I click I get this message.
What's wrong?

(I'm deleting the contents of the skin via FTP. Then changing my default back to a safer skin. I'll try reinstalling again.)

i dont know what could cause this...because it's saying that the error is in-
/var/www/virtual/astralqueen.byethost5.com/htdocs/smf/Sources/Subs.php
which is not part of the theme.

I installed ElementX theme and it worked fine.

I will reinstall this one tomorrow morning, and I'll let you know what happened.

Thank you for letting me know that the error is not related to the theme.  :(

I prefer tippmaster to JCody.

Did you install any mods?  No theme touches the Subs.php file.

No, I do not have any mods installed.

Before I deleted the Theme from my FTP, I saved this picture:
(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg388.imageshack.us%2Fimg388%2F3802%2Funtitled21vo.th.jpg&hash=a09cc7ec48703f787f3809599f2ce54753436229) (http://img388.imageshack.us/my.php?image=untitled21vo.jpg)
(Click on the pic at the imageshack website to see original size...
Or it will look choppy)

No matter what link I clicked...this error message came up.

Hello, I tried a fresh installation.
It continues to give me that error message.

>:(

Does anyone know why I'm the only one getting this?

I installed another theme named CoolMetal.
Like my other themes, it installed correctly.
No problems.

Abosolutely not.
I installed SMF 1.05
I have no mods installed.
I've installed 3 themes successfully.

But whenever I test this theme, I get that error.  :'(
Title: Re: [Theme] Simple Blue for 1.0.5

The problem was with my host.
I switched to another one and the theme loaded fine.

However, I noticed that the News Fader is really choppy.
Anyone else get this problem?

Basically it plays 2 new items at once...then fades and plays the next 2.

I also have the themes ElemenT and Helios installed.
They do not do this.

Hello,

I want to add the news-fader to the topics-page.
Currently, it only shows on the main page.

QuoteFind the very first </table>';

and add after that: // Show the news fader?  (assuming there are things to show...)
if ($settings['show_newsfader'] && !empty($context['fader_news_lines']))
{
echo '
<div class="tborder" style="margin-bottom: 2ex;">
<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="4">
<tr class="titlebg" align="center">
<td>', $txt[102], '</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td valign="middle" align="center" height="60">';

// Prepare all the javascript settings.
echo '
<div id="smfFadeScroller" style="width: 90%; padding: 2px;"><b>', $context['news_lines'][0], '</b></div>
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"><!-- // --><![CDATA[
// The fading delay (in ms.)
var smfFadeDelay = ', empty($settings['newsfader_time']) ? 5000 : $settings['newsfader_time'], ';
// Fade from... what text color?  To which background color?
var smfFadeFrom = {"r": 0, "g": 0, "b": 0}, smfFadeTo = {"r": 255, "g": 255, "b": 255};
// Surround each item with... anything special?
var smfFadeBefore = "<b>", smfFadeAfter = "</b>";

var foreColor, backEl, backColor;

if (typeof(document.getElementById(\'smfFadeScroller\').currentStyle) != "undefined")
{
foreColor = document.getElementById(\'smfFadeScroller\').currentStyle.color.match(/#([\da-f][\da-f])([\da-f][\da-f])([\da-f][\da-f])/);
smfFadeFrom = {"r": parseInt(foreColor[1]), "g": parseInt(foreColor[2]), "b": parseInt(foreColor[3])};

backEl = document.getElementById(\'smfFadeScroller\');
while (backEl.currentStyle.backgroundColor == "transparent" && typeof(backEl.parentNode) != "undefined")
backEl = backEl.parentNode;

backColor = backEl.currentStyle.backgroundColor.match(/#([\da-f][\da-f])([\da-f][\da-f])([\da-f][\da-f])/);
smfFadeTo = {"r": eval("0x" + backColor[1]), "g": eval("0x" + backColor[2]), "b": eval("0x" + backColor[3])};
}
else if (typeof(window.opera) == "undefined" && typeof(document.defaultView) != "undefined")
{
foreColor = document.defaultView.getComputedStyle(document.getElementById(\'smfFadeScroller\'), null).color.match(/rgb\((\d+), (\d+), (\d+)\)/);
smfFadeFrom = {"r": parseInt(foreColor[1]), "g": parseInt(foreColor[2]), "b": parseInt(foreColor[3])};

backEl = document.getElementById(\'smfFadeScroller\');
while (document.defaultView.getComputedStyle(backEl, null).backgroundColor == "transparent" && typeof(backEl.parentNode) != "undefined" && typeof(backEl.parentNode.tagName) != "undefined")
backEl = backEl.parentNode;

backColor = document.defaultView.getComputedStyle(backEl, null).backgroundColor.match(/rgb\((\d+), (\d+), (\d+)\)/);
smfFadeTo = {"r": parseInt(backColor[1]), "g": parseInt(backColor[2]), "b": parseInt(backColor[3])};
}

// List all the lines of the news for display.
var smfFadeContent = new Array(
"', implode('",
"', $context['fader_news_lines']), '"
);
// ]]></script>
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/fader.js"></script>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>';
}

This code needs to be added to MessageIndex.template.php and Display.template.php

However, this theme does not have these files.
What can I do if I want the news fader on other parts of my forum?
Title: Re: [Theme] Simple Blue for 1.0.5
Post by: 1MileCrash on September 19, 2005, 04:57:19 PM
just copy the default files over to it.

I probabally messed up bad with news fader items, because i wasnt working on the theme with it on.

Mastkiller - it will probabally just involve putting it in the same div as the "new post links" are. But ill post some exact code after i work with it a while.

Quotejust copy the default files over to it.

Sorry...I don't understand what you mean.

Should I copy the contents of "index.template" and paste it into a dummy MessageIndex.template.php/Display.template.php ?

QuoteI probabally messed up bad with news fader items, because i wasnt working on the theme with it on.

I fixed the news fader by going to BoardIndex template and changing the R: B: G: values.

You had the text fade on blue to white. It should be blue to black since the background is black.

similar to the request by MASTKILLEr.

i have been trying to mod your theme.

the main area of the forum is in 2 columns.

3 info boxes on left and posts [main] on right.

i thought that i may merge the 2 cells to get the 3 info boxes above the posts.

but unfortunatelly a few hours later that has not worked.

should i be changing something elsewhere?

thtanks for the nice simple looking theme.

I have a question about the Side-Info-Boxes.

Where can I edit their features? I want to change their backgrounds and graphics.

Also, you know on the main-page, at the bottom...
There's a bar that shows the symbol for "New Post", "No New Post"...
How do I remove that?

Thanks.

whew. Sorry for the LATE replys guys. I forgot about this.

the side boxes dont use classes, im afraid. You'll have to edit index.template.php.

To remove that bar that displays the key, open boardindex.template and find
';
}

if ($context['user']['is_logged'])
{
echo '
<div style="padding: 3px;"><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5">
<tr class="titlebg">

echo '
</td>
</tr>
</table></div>';
}

// Here's where the "Info Center" starts...
echo '

and remove it.

To those of you who want the boxes above the forum, just find this comment-
// The main content should go here.  A table is used because IE 6 just can't handle a div.

the forum is in a cell, and the side boxes are in a cell. All you have to do is add a <tr> and </tr> tag to put them on different rows.

I cant believe hw many errors i made in this theme.  :(
