Otsikko: Background Colors
Kirjoitti: Texan78 - tammikuu 19, 2012, 04:21:09 IP
I am trying to do some color matching with my AdSense ads but since the topics use images and not hex I am in the next of some assistance. So does anyone know the Hex code for color used for the background image used on the first post of a topic?

-Thanks

Oddly enough, we had this exact question, recently...

Ha! How ironic is that! I tried some of the colors in that other post and I have got close with one but it has a slight variance. It is a bit lighter then the background. It looks like it is more the color of the even number posts in a topic. I tried that link but it keeps timing out. Is there a Wiki or something here that may have the Hex colors used?

-Thanks

Ok I found the color and for reference for the next person who is looking for it or does a search here it is.

#E7EAEF

This is for the image frame_repeat.png that is used for all your odd number posts like 1,3,5, etc. Basically the first post of the thread and every other one after that. I found it using one of my many great Firefox web developer add ons call Colorzilla.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/colorzilla/

Once installed you can access it from the Tools menu at the top of the browser. Select Eye Dropper and move your mouse over what you need the HEX or RGB for wether its a image or CSS it will tell you in the bottom right corner of the browser. If you need even more info you can select Web Page DOM Analyzer and it will give you a box of swatches with the HEX and RGB code on them. You mouse over one of the swatches it will put a red outline around the images or element that is using that color.

Hope this helps!

Get yourself a copy of Photoshop ($$) or GIMP (free) and use it to examine the color of a pixel in any image. It's the "eyedropper" icon.

I do have it, I own the CS5.5 Master Collection. But it won't analyze a entire web site on the fly without saving each image and opening it in PS so it's a little more time consuming and more expensive vs. a free add on that will do it on the fly and outline exactly what it is you need to look at with the push of a button, plus it's free. So a much better solution for most. Another reason I didn't use PS is the pixel in it's original form was to small for the eye dropper. PS is great, but work smarter not harder...  ;)

Probably works great for Windoze, it's not available on Mac and that's what I use. ;D
