Before updating to new version uninstall any older first! This modification will add Twitter Slide Box to your forum.
More info and changelog on mod site.
Very nice mod!
Though at your demo site the Facebook tab overlaps the Twitter content when closed.
Thanks ;)
I guess I have to reinstall my demo site ::)
Like this mod...
Let me ask you a question....Is there any way just one membership group can see my tweets, instead of everyone?...thanx
If I figure out how to add permissions using hooks I will add this feature in the future :)
but if they know link to your twitter page... they can see your tweets from there

Well I need twitter for a special membergroup in my forum...I really do not know how does that work...but I do not want everyone in my forum to see my twitter...
So, if that is possible at a reasonable cost, I am willing to pay for it
New version added.
Same problem here with this Mod and the Facebook Mod.
Updated version added, more info in changelog at modsite
Thanks
Now I only have this error:
8: Undefined index: twitter_slide_box_find
Datei: ...../Sources/Subs-TwitterSlideBox.php

I forgot to remove it... :|
In ./Sources/Subs-TwitterSlideBox.php

Mod is great. But every now and again the slide box become empty, no content on FF 12. I have brought it back by clearing cache and restarting.
Is there a more permanent fix for this?
Thanks.
Bob
I'm using also FF (latest version) and don't have any problems, and if I can't reproduce this error I don't think that I can solve this.
This is very simple mod, it only displays what Twitter sends, so I don't think that this is caused by mod, it's most likely caused by JavaScript from Twitter.
Thanks for your reply. I am playing around with the cache settings on FF12. I have turned on memory cache with -1 setting. Seems to be OK at the moment.
Yes, I think it is something peculiar to with FF12. I have noted there have been some reports on the web of some different behaviours with FF12 on redirects and things.
Regards ..
Think I have found the issue. Nothing to do with the mod or the js. It was a proxy server issue. Suspect not quite right, changed it and the mod seems fine.

Is there a way to sticky the box at the top of a page, rather than having it follow as I scroll? Some users have mentioned it overlaps with part of the threads (they must have very small screens, as it looks fine on my laptop).
I just installed Facebook and Twitter Slide boxes, as admin, I can see both boxes working fantastic.... as guest or regular member of the forum I achieved show them facebook box only, activating in the admin panel the permissions for it ('Facebook Slide Like Box' Category --> 'Display Facebook Slide Like Box' option activated)...... the problem is with the twiter box....I can´t set anything cos there is no option for it in the admin panel.... why?
SMF v2.0.2

Thanks
You have to go into permissions and turn it on for each member group. I think that we had to activate it for all of our member groups - Regular members, guests, and Admin/Mods in order for it to display for everyone.
whoops.. somehow notifications didn't came at my email ::)

I will do something about it in next version, but now don't have much time to deal with this, so it may take awhile :|
@rubenbb, JeneeB53 is right, you have to set permission for each group.
i dont know if i missed something on settings or installation but i only see on the slide box the one that i tweeted in the twitter.com but the topics created in the forum wont auto feed in the box.

No problem, I'll keep an eye out for the next version!
Possible to display this for a twitter list instead of a single twitter account? Might be some helpful coding here:
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=485285.msg3398347#msg3398347
I'll see what I can do ;)
I'm getting this error:
getimagesize(/home3/royalins/public_html/forum/Themes/SMF4Mobile/images/TwitterSlideBox/default.png) [<a href='function.getimagesize'>function.getimagesize</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directoryFile: /home3/royalins/public_html/forum/Sources/Subs-TwitterSlideBox.php
Line: 54
I do have the mod turned off for mobile users, but this error is in my log a lot, so the mod doesn't seem to be detecting mobile browsing very well- at least not from a smart-phone.
Copy the TwitterSlideBox directory from Themes/default/images to Themes/SMF4Mobile/images
I have this fixed in next version (if image is not in current theme dir, SMF loads image from default theme), later i will update package
It doesn't work anymore. Did Twitter update something? I just get a blank box now.

Yes, mine stopped as well.
Twitter has changed their widgets which has made a lot of these type of mods non-functioning ...
I'll check it later today
Even twitter's own widgets to add to a site don't work anymore.
So, that could mean an end to having tweets shown on sites. :(

Thank you! Hopefully the problem is easy to fix.

I think that's bad business for Twitter. I think they wouldn't make it impossible to show tweets.

I will update this version as soon as I have time.

Thanks phantomm! It's a great mod to have, so I appreciate your work a lot!

I just saw your slide box. It works! Did you update it?
Looking forward to a fix for this great mod!
The sidebox shows up but empty inside. While the facebook sidebox working well. I am using 2.0.6
Also I saw the youtube sidebox here http://phantom.unixstorm.org/smf2/index.php#c1, anyone knows where to download the mod?
Thanks
someone have this?
Does this mod work in 2.0.7? Just wondering, because the mod looks AWESOME and I'd love to have it.
Just installed the mod and I have a few questions if anyone has the answers it would be much appreciated.
Does it take time for the tweets to show? I installed it a few minutes ago and I see the twitter box, but I have no tweets. I sent a tweet just to make sure too.
I currently only see the slide box when I go and check my "who's online box". It doesn't show just on the general home page. Is that because I have no tweets in the box yet, or is that a setting I need to adjust?
here's my forum link if you need to view what I am referring to. Like I said, you'll only see the installed twitter box if you click to view "who's online". forum(dot)mixrevu.com
Mod does not work since Twitter changed their API.
Ok, thanks. Do you know of any other mod that does this? Or is there a simple mod to integrate the API? I know I have a tweet embed for a prestashop site I have, with the API key etc.
Hey there!
I know its been some time since the last one posted in here, but I recently set up a forum and now I try to get this mod working.
Its showing up on the left side, but whatever I try it keeps being blank (besides that blue twitter color) but no tweets show up.
I know it should be working again, since you are using it yourself onm your test forum.
So maybe I'm missing something? The Twitter name should be the actual @Twitter name I guess?
Could it be it doesnt work cause im using the SMF 2.0.9 ? I thought it shouldnt be much of a difference since you are using the 2.0.7 on your site.
Im using the 2.0.4a Version atm.
Any idea what my problem could be?
would be awesome if I could make it work :)
+1 8) Oh Wait thats the Google + one I would like too O:)
Maybe next week.. :)
Nice !
