Title: Hide forum from administrator?
Post by: shazoo! on April 09, 2012, 01:35:45 PM
Hi, I'm trying to find out if there is a way to hide a specific forum from an administrator.

The reason being, is I have private forums for males and females, and I would like them to remain private.  I am a female, and even though I know I won't go into the board, I want to reassure the members that I don't even have access to that section at all to ensure their privacy.

Is this possible?  Would creating a special permission group still allow me to be an "admin" with no access to that one forum?

You can create a second admin membergroup which is based on admin permissions, remove the target board from visible boards, and place yourself in that group.  Doesn't really make sense, since as admin, you can always re-enable access to the board.

I know it doesn't make sense, but it's more of an honorable gesture than anything else.

You can't hide anything from THE administrator, Shaz.

You can create another membergroup for other, pseudo-admins, and hide stuff from them, to a degree. But, not from THE admin. i.e. the person that installed the forum.
