SEO Sitemap mod adds an extra action to your SMF installation: ?action=kitsitemap
Its optimized for bots, so that faster indexing of your site is possible.
Also there is a xml sitemap integrated for use in google webmaster tools.
The mod uses the smf 2.0 hook-system, so no file-modifications are necessary

I am also getting an error from Google Webmaster when trying to submit mkress SEO sitemap. The error message:
"We encountered an error while trying to acess your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit." (See screenshot 1)
It says the URL is restricted by robots.txt but I'd prefer not to delete my robots.txt file since it protects my folders. How do I fix this?

that is not my sitemap mod you are using, my mod is called "kitsitemap" in url

robots.txt tells search engines to index OR to not index your site. (hast nothing to do with security).
It does not make sense to disallow google to index your site and on the other side submit your site in google webmaster tools via sitemap.
If you post the content of your robots.txt here I can tell you what's wrong...
but looks like your side is not present in google, regarding this error message

if so please tell me links to your domains so I can check it (there are often compatibility issues with portal mods)

This worked great for me until I updated to 2.2 and now I am receiving this error in webmaster tools. "Sitemap contains urls which are blocked by robots.txt." My robot.txts are set wide open to allow and I tried downgrading to 2.1 but that didn't seem to help. Any ideas?

Thank you for updating your Sitemap modification. It now works with Google webmaster tools. If I can make another suggestion, perhaps you should write in your instructions for users that they should submit the XML version to Google Webmaster tools. I think that would help alleviate a lot of the confusion in this help board ;)

Once i have submitted it to google. Found each board xml in-turns list there topics perfectly.
But our old sitemap mod used to list maximum only to 50,000 urls. Google also warned me to list multiple pages of 50,000 each and rejected my old sitemap.

The MOD definitely creates a XML sitemap. All we need to enter
;xml to view the xml sitemap for any particular board:

As far as I can say, this plugin can insert URLs in the XML sitemap only when threads/topics are present :)

you only have to submit the xml index-file to google:

it is not necessary to include every single board, because boards are included in the index file....

2) add any 'action's to add its all url (I currently installed SA Knowledge Base mod but can't able to add it's urls)

Im still having issues with this, I unclicked the show footer option in admin, i hit save, now i logged out cause i know admins can still see it, but as a guest i could still see it,
I would really like to make the " sitemap 1234567 " go away, Can I manually uncode it and remove it, and if so how would i do that , im using this mod with a direct menu link to help people on cell phones index the site faster, so the footer link is just extra fluff id like to make go away

I installed successfully on SMF 2.0.4 with EzPortal.
But the XML sitemap has links in the following format:
http://www...../index.php?board=2.0&action=kitsitemap;xml
So &action=kitsitemap;xml gets appended to all links.
When I try to open such a link in the browser, I get an empty page.
Is this behaviour desired?
Also, the sitemap link doesn't show up in the footer.
Only if I choose in Admin: "Sitemap 1,2,3..."
If I choose "Sitemap", nothing gets displayed in the footer.
Please help to resolve. Thank you.

Checking to see if this is still supported.
I have this installed on my site but I don't see an real benefit from it, specifically in Google search results. What is the objective of the mod? If there is no sitemap.xml to submit to Google webmaster tools, isn't the mod basically doing nothing but duplicating links that are already created?

Hello, this mod support large forums? I mean when a section from forum have 12000 posts for example.
One question, if i hide the Sitemap button, the Sitemap will not be showed to Search engines? or only hides the button? please answer my doubth ???
I have absolutely nothing to do with the Mod, but I see a few questions to which I think I have the answer.
@ njtweb: use this links for the XML sitemap: URL-of-your-forum/index.php?action=kitsitemap;xml
You register your site with Google Webmaster Tools and enter this URL.
@ Julian F: as far as I can see the answer is yes.
@ Andreso: if you follow the instructions I wrote for njtweb above it will work.

I see only the urls of the sections of my forum. Is it right?
In addition I use PrettyUrls mod... shouldn't I get a sitemap with friendly urls?
I also try this kind of method for sitemap.xml.
Seems that Google can't fetch this sitemap...
I tried all links in the topic including "/index.php?action=kitsitemap;xml"

I have it that way it takes it correctly, see if via robots.txt you are blocking it but verify that google can access that file.
