Hello,
I'm having trouble making my avatars larger. Currently they are set at 125x125 in the admin panel; however, that size is not reflected when you see the posts (view screenshot above). Is it because the post area (view screenshot above) is too wide? If so, could someone please guide me in the right direction so I may fix this problem. I am using the Minimal theme (link: http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=2285).
Thank you in advance.
What does it look like in the Default "Curve" theme?
The same problem with the default theme as well:

Do you have...
Maximum width of external avatar
Maximum height of external avatar
AND
Maximum width of uploaded avatar
Maximum height of uploaded avatar
all set?

Yep, all are set to 125x125. I set them when I first installed the theme. I went back to check just now and somehow they were reset to 65x65. I set them back to 125x125 and refreshed, but nothing changed.
If you change the setting after the avatar is uploaded and used, the avatar won't magically grow, unfortunately.
You'll need to re-up it.

I re-uploaded mine and nothing changed. I linked this: (https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi46.tinypic.com%2F2v35t37.png&hash=df090c66e8fa574a689a9c0d8f0e907e9c3222ff) and it looks like this: (https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi47.tinypic.com%2F2r56cds.png&hash=0ca96efcf69125212e37f4c36f5794b242a91770).
Again, what if you use the SMF default theme?
It looks fine with the Curve theme now, but we have set the Minimal theme as default and have disabled the option to chose other themes. Is there a way to adjust the display template to fix the problem with the Minimal theme?
you need to edit the height and width of the poster area:
index.css
.poster li.avatar {
height: 50px;
overflow: hidden;
}
.poster {
float: left;
width: 70px;
}
also i think you will ve to edit the display.template.php to edit the height and width properties set in the <img> tag

Will the codes above change the dimensions of post area width? Wouldn't the dimensions be greater than 50x70? Shouldn't it be in percent also?
Also, which properties are you talking about for the display template page? Sorry, I just want to be sure before I try to edit it, as I probably would find a way to mess it up. :'(
if you are not sure how to do it you could attach the display.template.php and the index.css.
and no the post are will be the same but the poster profile will be wider
Okay, I've attached both files. Thank you for helping me!
here it is, tell me if it works :)

It indeed does work! Many thanks again. ;D
I have one more question. I have re-uploaded the generic avatar that all new members are assigned until they choose avatars for themselves. The dimensions are 125x70, but is scaled down to 50x50. Is there a way I can stop the scaling?
oops forgot to attach the display.template.php
Thank you! Could I just ask for a slight change? Can you make it scale to 125x125? Sorry about the trouble. :'(
EDIT: Figured it out, lol. Thank you again for your help!
you are welcome then i ll mark the topic as solved
