how do i add rank images like

Put a folder in your images folder containing all the images then goto Admin and edit the membergroups (modify) pointing each one to the respective image you want. This should then use your images instead of the default smf ones.
sorry i dont get what you mean can you do some screenshots or something?
You need to FTP to your forum and create a new folder in the images folder named whatever you prefer. Place the images for your ranks in there.
Then go to Admin > Members > Membergroups and you will see your membergroups listed and a Modify option for each one.
Using the Modify option you can then select the path to your new image and replace the exisitng one. Make sure to name the extension on the end like admin.gif or admin.jpeg so the forum will use them.
i could not find images but i listed it under avatars page if thats a alright place?

The images folder should just be in your themes folder depending on the theme you use. The path once inside it can be anything you wish as long as the forum can navigate to it.
so i need to add them to each theme?
