I have just tried to set this up but something is wrong or Im making mistake somewhere.

(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ffotkica.com%2Fimgs3%2F1_71566164_dbd427b2cf60cd50095e08a078b18044.png&hash=d701903fb7c2ee6181f46a97dc61d366e1a2bfab)

Its hanging there and nothing happens, and Ive got everything setup.

Make sure the subdomain name is the same on your dashboard.
Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: MaSSSS on February 01, 2013, 05:22:17 PM
It is but Im not sure if it makes any difference if its mydomain/forum/ or not. If so then I should add /forum ?

Also there is no subdomain, only tld

Edit: Osnap...I see that there is API subdomain entry...what now I need to create a subdomain for it?

Im sorry but this is not working for me for some reason. Its not verifying anything and it just hangs there. I made sure i got it all set right, API subdomain entry is the same as I have set on the dashboard.

If I need to create something else like a subdomain on my tld please say so, this way it will end up in the bin.

If you did everything step by step, try this..
change the permission to 755 on oneall_social_login.callback.php  and see if it helps. I had to.

I believe that would solve it but for some reason it wont let me do it...

QuoteSet permissions of '/forum/oneall_social_login.callback.php' to '755'
Command:   SITE CHMOD 755 oneall_social_login.callback.php
Response:   550 CHMOD 755 oneall_social_login.callback.php: Operation not permitted

In use?

Hmmm... i did mine thru cPanel.

Also, you dont have to create a subdomain.  My forum resides in /community and i didnt have to.

Ok thanks for all the help. Ill resolve this one tomorrow its late now.

If it works with this permission change Ill update it here so everyone know it is a real fix for it.

Cheers.

Well, looks like its working but it still not saying anything about API setting check and Connection handlers...same message like on image in my previous post.

What I had to do is to change permissions on file mentioned to 755, and along the line I fixed a few more errors I had, so not sure if that did the trick or not.

Social login buttons are shown in Account Settings in forum profile, and on registration menu like one below

(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fgyazo.com%2F7088d3f3c79179264c1e1e178e82db87.png&hash=fa54b68de3189107ae5be2c9f1aaef2c881ef245)

or on the registration form.

Was a bit moderate to setup but worth a hustle...

Edit:

Ok I had to remove it. There is slight performance impact and if you have a lot of mods and are on shared hosting it might become a problem as it did for me.

One more problem is that I had user registration set On Admin Approval, which this plugin ignores and approves registration of users without even notifying admin of it. Thats bad and main reason I removed it. Its perfectly fine for open site and communities but its not for the closed ones.

Nevertheless its a very nice plugin, but adding these additional features might help making it even better.

Installed, but having numerous problems with this one.

First up:

clicking the "autodetect api connection handler" is doing nothing, nada, nil
clicking "verify api settings" is doing nothing either

Next:
When trying to link an existing profile to an account. Added facebook to my member account and get the error

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/vrforum/public_html/Sources/QueryString.php:567) in /home/vrforum/public_html/Sources/Subs.php on line 3081

=====================

3rd problem.

registration, in this ocassion i tried to register using google. Multiple errors when it access page oneall_social_login.callback.php

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/vrforum/public_html/Sources/QueryString.php:567) in /home/vrforum/public_html/Sources/Subs-Auth.php on line 129]

However, must be pointed out, the registration IS succesful.

Have set permissions of root/oneall_social_login.callback.php to 755 via ftp

Ok. IGNORE THE ABOVE POST. But Im going to leave it there in case someone has the same issues.

First problem still stands, authorising things does nothing, but they do add to the db.

the rest, i ran the smf file checker utility, http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/File_check.php_-_What_is_it_and_what_does_it_do
and fixed all the files with utf-8 BOM (Which included subs.php)

and now it is linking accounts correctly.

fully working and tested, linking existing accounts, and registering as new member
Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: dimspace on February 04, 2013, 05:39:31 PM
I have however discovered a huge flaw.

if you are an existing member, and you go to the logon page, and even though youve not yet linked your twitter or facebook account to your user account, if you carry on and click "login with social network", it creates a whole new account.

Three of my members have just created new accounts by accident.

Logon routine should not be able to create new accounts.

it needs something built in that compares the login request with existing linked accounts and if none exist, then putting up an error message saying that the social account isnt linked to an existing account, please login normally or register for the forum.

pending that bugfix ive disabled for now, if three members (plus me) can create new accounts by accident in a matter of minutes, i dread to think how many there would be by the morning :D its got promise, but thats a bit of a faux pas.

Bug fix for forums that do not allow guests to view
In oneall_social_login.callback.php
Find

// Security Check.
if (file_exists (dirname (__FILE__) . '/SSI.php') && !defined ('SMF'))
require_once(dirname (__FILE__) . '/SSI.php');
elseif (!defined ('SMF'))
die ('<strong>Unable to execute:</strong> Please make sure that you have installed Social Login correctly.');

Change to

// Allow Guests
$ssi_guest_access = true;
// Security Check.
if (file_exists (dirname (__FILE__) . '/SSI.php') && !defined ('SMF'))
require_once(dirname (__FILE__) . '/SSI.php');
elseif (!defined ('SMF'))
die ('<strong>Unable to execute:</strong> Please make sure that you have installed Social Login correctly.');

I had no problem with logging in as an existing user, it automatically link my account, but then, linking other accounts. Twitter; after you click the sign in button on the acceptance page, nothing happens. Google; gave the below error after linking, but linked successfully
QuoteError 403

We're sorry, but we could not fulfill your request for /oneall_social_login.callback.php?oasl_source=profile;oasl_uid=7 on this server.

Youtube; just left with a blank white page and yet no account linking.

Then the first error as dimspace pointed out, on verification, still exists, even after 755

Aside that, excellent mod!!!! excellent!

Just being over excited here though :) but, for theme's where login can be found on the homepage's header (attimes as drop down); how do you add the social login buttons there also?

it linked accounts if they had an identical email, but how many people only have one email.

if you tried to login with an account that wasnt your default email it createed an account
Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: DAVID. D.A on February 07, 2013, 05:16:51 AM
I think the linking of account aspect should be looked into deeply.

Created a new account with an gmail(not my default), it also linked my other social networks having that email, but when i tried to unlink yahoo, same 403 error. and i guess same error would happen to other networks.

Basically, the end point of linking or unlinking accounts gives ERROR 403.

Twitter's problem still exists,  either as new registry or linking. - No response after you click the twitter sign in button on allow app permision page.

Also, a user can delete their account without typing a password i.e just blank box; should this be a problem?

This mod has now been updated to 2.1 and it fixes all the little bugs

+ if a user tries to logon with an unregistered account it says there is no account linked and to register or add it to their profile.

works absolutely superbly and a breeze to set up your social networks which is normally a total pain in the neck.

huge props to the guys at oneall as well who have been really quick to fix the bugs and communicated really well.

As a tip to draw attention to how easy it is to register, i added a header box in simple portal with the social media icons highlighted (just added them as smileys), attached the set of all the 16px icons i used. all come from icon finder or similar and are creative commons.

oneall_social_login.callback.php  is in fact no longer needed and I have removed it from the package.
The modification now uses the SMF controller index.php which solves the chmod issues.

@A.SK
I've had a look at your forum.
It seems like the page http://discuss.itacumens.com/index.php does not accept POST requests.

Could you check if you have something that might block POST requests to your server?

Do you mean my smf forum works without a post method.
I have checked with my server guys and found Get / Post is perfectly working in my server.
Kindly advice, or share me the old zip so that i will use it with 755 chmod for that file.

How would someone make Facebook post a message to the person's timeline when they register? Something like "I have just registered on site.com!"

oneall_social_login.callback.php  is in fact no longer needed and I have removed it from the package.
The modification now uses the SMF controller index.php which solves the chmod issues.

@A.SK
I've had a look at your forum.
It seems like the page forum does not accept POST requests.

Could you check if you have something that might block POST requests to your server?

Do you mean my smf forum works without a post method.
I have checked with my server guys and found Get / Post is perfectly working in my server.
Kindly advice, or share me the old zip so that i will use it with 755 chmod for that file.
I do not want to disable this great working mod.

Claude, am waiting for your reply here. All users after registering, they are getting 404 error.

Kindly help us.

@A.SK
You can download the previous version here:
http://public.oneallcdn.com/extensions/smf/social_login/2/social_login_2_0--smf_2.tar.gz

Please also have a look at the Bad Behaviour settings.

QuoteAllow Offsite Forms (default false):
Bad Behavior normally prevents your site from receiving data posted from forms on other web sites. This prevents spammers from, e.g., using a Google cached version of your web site to send you spam. However, some web applications such as OpenID require that your site be able to receive form data in this way. If you are running OpenID, enable this option.

Offsite Forms must be allowed or Social Login does not work properly.

@pastorvictor
In the file Subs-OneallSocialLogin.php you can find this line:

$user_token = $user->user_token;

You can use our API and this user_token to post to the user's wall.

Claude i should say, it was an amazing mod. After enabling offsite forms in my bad behavior mod. Everything worked perfectly.

1) I want to check with you , whether enabling this option in bad behavior mod is safe and does not create any issues.
2) I found a big mistake via this mod, i have registered via google and logged in to my forum, luckily this mod picked up my old registered id and logged me with that id - Same i have logged out via forum also. But when i open a browser i found gmail is logged in.
3) I have used a different id - via yahoo - registered and logged in successfully to the forum - but no registered email has been sent to the yahoo email id. Same even after forum logout i noticed the yahoo id is still logged in on yahoo.com - is that not a security threat.
4) Old version is not required, since the new version works wonderfully.

Overall i should thanks this mod and steps on the site oneall.com was perfect for all webmaster's. Thanks. If my freemium plan is fully used, i will move to paid version.

Hi A.SK

Quote1) I want to check with you , whether enabling this option in bad behavior mod is safe and does not create any issues.
Yes, this is absolutely safe. Disabling offsite forms does not offer any additional security - this protection can very easily be circumvented.

Quote2) I found a big mistake via this mod, i have registered via google and logged in to my forum, luckily this mod picked up my old registered id and logged me with that id - Same i have logged out via forum also. But when i open a browser i found gmail is logged in.
For security reasons the login is always made by the social network itsself. If you login by Google, it's Google that takes care of the authentication.
Once you have logged in, we can unfortunately not log you out programmatically.

Quote3) I have used a different id - via yahoo - registered and logged in successfully to the forum - but no registered email has been sent to the yahoo email id. Same even after forum logout i noticed the yahoo id is still logged in on yahoo.com - is that not a security threat.
Thank you. I will have a look at the email issue.

Hi johnpaul2k2,

1. when i use some of the social login, this is what i got
This error is displayed when someone tries to login without having registered first.
You first have to go to the registration page to register with your social network account.
Once you have registered you can use the login page

2. while some will keep on redirecting from now till infinity
Could you please open the Social Login config in your SMF admin panel and click on the Autodetect and Verify buttons?
Do you get two green mesages?

1. why not make both the social login in both "login" and "register" the same? because the SA facebook that i am using is working on both login and register as one  (ie not  must u have to go through REGISTER first)

2. the REDIRECT is taking more than required, though if you refresh, it is already logged in

3. is there a simple way to add all these social button on the Front page???

I would disagree with point 1, i think login and registration should be very clearly defined, it was causing a lot of confusion for my existing members prior to the "this account has not yet been associated with an account" on login was added. How do you differentiate between login and register, unless people happen to use the same email address for everything.

As an aside, im not sure running this in combination with SA facebook is a good idea. Might be wrong.

on the social buttons on front page, if you mean actually login buttons it would be entirely theme dependant, and the code could be done i guess for curve but how many are running curve. I have a register prompt for guests that lists teh icons of the networks they can login via using a simple portal block

In addition to my other question, how can you redirect newly registered users to their profile settings, so they can add an avatar, signature, etc. Cause new members have no avatar, just a blank error/non loading image.

I had the change the permission to 755 on oneall_social_login.callback.php  ;)

All good now.

Please, mine is acting JANGO UNCHANGED  . if i try to register or login , after forwarding or taking data from a particular SOCIAL BUTTON , it will continue to redirect till Jesus comes except you stop it.
Another funny thing is when you open the  forum index, you will be logged in. why can't the REDIRECT just take you to the forum instead stopping and going to the Forum index yourself.  i tested your own, it's working fine.

please what will i do??

ok I have the same error as johnpaul described for almost every google un youtube accaunts
This social network has not yet been linked to an account.

Even in registration page they are not allowed to sign in, it says
An Error Has Occurred!
You need to fill in a username.

No errors in error log

Is there any way to allow sign in from login page or then at least to remove those buttons from login page, because only 1 facbook accaunt from about 15 O tested(google, twitter, facebook, youtube) worked..

EDITED
Ok, so problem about this error about non existing user is not Social login mod fault. It shows up if this user does not have Name, Surname or Nickname in his user(forxample google) accaunt. So this problem is solved.
Ok I removed those buttons from login lage now - because they are useless there.

So my next question is:

How to redirect those buttons from login page to registration page? And also how to add these buttons to main index or at least image with redirected link to registration page?

Alfter some research I can say that registration bar mod solved this problem - you can add custom text or image, which will take you to the registration page. I hope this helps someone

i had the same too but here is how to use it

when you want to use the Social Login for the first time. you MUST go through REGISTER , not going to login  because LOGIN and REGISTER are not the same.

Go through Register and use it if you are using it for the first time, it will work. after that , you can login through LOGIN .

I'm using the default theme, nothing comes up in the admin section at all for configuring the mod.
I'm using the latest version of SMF 2.0.4.

This is my first time using this forum software so I'm still trying to find my way around it. I also had the bug where the temp directory in the Packages folder needed to be created manually each time. I don't know if that may of caused problems, I will attempt a clean reinstall and try again.

Hello,

there is unfortunately a bug in the module and it does not work when guest access is disabled.
Thanks to the help of CepoSK I have been able to find and fix the issue.

You have to open the index.php file of your forum:

Find this part:

// If guest access is off, a guest can only do one of the very few following actions.
elseif (empty($modSettings['allow_guestAccess']) && $user_info['is_guest'] && (!isset($_REQUEST['action']) || !in_array($_REQUEST['action'], array('coppa', 'login', 'login2', 'register', 'register2', 'reminder', 'activate', 'help', 'smstats', 'mailq', 'verificationcode', 'openidreturn'))))
{
   require_once($sourcedir . '/Subs-Auth.php');
   return 'KickGuest';
}

And change it to this (the change is highlighted) :

// If guest access is off, a guest can only do one of the very few following actions.
elseif (empty($modSettings['allow_guestAccess']) && $user_info['is_guest'] && (!isset($_REQUEST['action']) || !in_array($_REQUEST['action'], array('oasl_registration', 'oasl_callback', 'coppa', 'login', 'login2', 'register', 'register2', 'reminder', 'activate', 'help', 'smstats', 'mailq', 'verificationcode', 'openidreturn'))))
{
   require_once($sourcedir . '/Subs-Auth.php');
   return 'KickGuest';
}

I will release a new version that includes this fix too.

After viewing the amount of form filling (so to speak) and seeing how confusing everything is just so people can log in using facebook etc I have decided not to continue with this mod for the time being.

one of the joys unfortunately of teh various apis they all use.. the actual installation is easy, its setting up the various social networks is a bit involved.. i come from teh side that has battled in the past with the darned facebook api so in comparison this was simple, but yes, to a new user its quite involved..

maybe there should be ratings on modifications...

The ratings idea was discussed by team members . It would be used unfairly in many cases.

The mods author should show an image on what the mod looks like on the forumas well as in the admin area.
Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: Arantor on April 27, 2013, 07:11:20 PM
It wasn't just a case of being discussed, it actually used to be the case that modifications were rated. But mods that didn't just install cleanly (often due to other mods that clashed) would just get a rating of 1/5 even when there was absolutely nothing wrong with the mod.
Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: dimspace on April 27, 2013, 07:18:30 PM
yeh, user based ratings are largely pointless. For everyone that says its great, there is one who says "doesnt work, load of rubbish"...

was thinking more when submitting the mod creator checks the relevant box and whoever approves it checks that.. but largely its pointless.. i just click parse before downloading a mod and decide from that If im going to or not..

that said, i admit to being defeated by facebook integration.

I'm very sorry that the setup was confusing for you. Unfortunately we cannot do much about it.
Most of the social networks require the webmasters to register their websites before being able to use their services.

We have tried to make this registration as easy as possible by providing tutorial guides and videos.
But it's true that you still have to follow the guides very carefully.

Do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance!

i was able to register almost all the social networks except 3 of them ( one is paypal, the rest with language problems lol)

it wouldn't take you more than 30 minutes to configure all ;)

Works great on my test site.

I have tried other social login type mods in the past and found them difficult to get set up.
The step by step instruction provided for this mod is great!

Before I install it on my main site I'm wondering if this mod makes it easier for spammers to register too?
Anyone notice a increase in spamming activity on their site after installing this mod?

What are the limits using this mod with the free account at https://app.oneall.com?
The basic plan for $8/month says, "5,000 Users".

Does that mean 5,000 members can login with it during one month and then it stops working or what?

What if I decide to stop using this mod and uninstall it?
What happens to the members that registered with one of their social accounts?

Will the members that registered using this mod still be able to login to our site if I uninstall the mod?

Thanks,

More questions... ;)

When I go to register using my Twitter account the popup login box says...

QuoteAuthorize DiyApplianceRepair.com to use your account?

This application will be able to:

    Read Tweets from your timeline.
    See who you follow, and follow new people.
    Update your profile.
    Post Tweets for you.

Update your profile?
Post Tweets for you?

Why would anyone go through with registering for our site with their twitter account after reading that?
Also how would I be able to update their twitter profile and post tweets for them?

I'm I missunder standing something?

Thanks,

I think thats more a flaw in the twitter API. Facebook has multiple permissions to check friends list, post on wall etc and asks each one seperately. Twitter has seemingly about 1 level of access, full access or none at all.. twitter users are kinda used to that..

twitter of all the social networks is about the most anonymous and theres not much in the way of privacy concerns.

Sounds good dimspace, thanks for the reply.

Now I could use some help getting the social login icons to display on another part of our site.
For example in the News area of the SMF default theme.

When I login to my account at https://app.oneall.com and go to Plugin Wizards>Social Login Wizard

It says...

QuoteCopy the code below to the head section of your page:

and shows this code...

<script type="text/javascript">
var oneall_js_protocol = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https" : "http");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + oneall_js_protocol + "://diyappliancerepair.api.oneall.com/socialize/library.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>

I'm having trouble adding it. Do I add it before the closing head tag in the index.template.php file?

I have tried different ways, like using echo and what not, but I keep getting different errors.

Could someone give me a example of just how I add that code to head of SMF?

Thanks,

Usually I put my scripts before the closing body tag for faster page load.
Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: ApplianceJunk on May 09, 2013, 10:51:29 AM
Hi Mick,

Ok, I took a look at the closing body tag and run into the same problem with not knowing just exactly where to add the code.

Here is what I have at the closing body tag in index.template.php

function template_html_below()
{
global $context, $settings, $options, $scripturl, $txt, $modSettings;

echo '
</body></html>';
}

and here is what I'm trying to add...

<script type="text/javascript">
var oneall_js_protocol = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https" : "http");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + oneall_js_protocol + "://diyappliancerepair.api.oneall.com/socialize/library.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>

Do I need to add it inside the echo that is there now or create another echo?

thanks,
Title: Re: Social Login

All my javascripts i place them here:

function template_html_below()
{
global $context, $settings, $options, $scripturl, $txt, $modSettings;

echo '

<script type="text/javascript">
var oneall_js_protocol = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https" : "http");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + oneall_js_protocol + "://diyappliancerepair.api.oneall.com/socialize/library.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>

</body></html>';
}

Try this:

global $context, $settings, $options, $scripturl, $txt, $modSettings;

echo '

<script type="text/javascript">

</script>

</body></html>';
}
Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: ApplianceJunk on May 09, 2013, 11:09:58 AM
That seems to work, thanks!

Now I added the other code they give you to display the social login icons to the "News" area (just to test it), but nothing shows up.

[html]
<!-- The plugin will be embedded into this div //-->
<div id="social_login_container"></div>

<script type="text/javascript">
oneall.api.plugins.social_login.build("social_login_container", {
  'providers' :  ['facebook', 'twitter'],
  'callback_uri': 'INSERT YOUR CALLBACK URI HERE'
});
</script>
[/html]

I would like to add them to the top left under the other user login info sooner or later, but thought I would just  past the code into the "News" area box in admin panel to test it out.

Maybe it don't work like I'm thinking to add the additional login buttons?

Thanks for the help...

The news box used use html but for some reason now it uses bbc.

Add this to where you added the other script above the body closing tag.

<script type="text/javascript">
oneall.api.plugins.social_login.build("social_login_container", {
"providers" :  ["facebook", "twitter"],
  "callback_uri":"INSERT YOUR CALLBACK URI HERE"
});
</script>

(It shouldnt break. I cleaned the code.)

And add this either above or below the news code in the index.template
<div id="social_login_container"></div>

Ok, all the above seems to work fine, thanks!

I see too where I had problems with the original code and how you cleaned it up by replacing the ' with " Thanks!

Now that I (you) got it working on my test site I can play around some more with the location in the template before putting in on our main sit.

Thanks again!

Do you or anyone else happen to know how quickly the Social Insights \ Summary page updates on the OneAll.com site?

I keep looking at it after I get a new member to see if it shows anything, but have not seen any stats for today yet.

Hmmm, it seems to me that Claude has them to display in the center when you want it float:left;

Im thinking you may have to add a css to the code and see if it moves?

Maybe something like this:

.slogin {

}

...and wrap the code with:

<div class="slogin">the code</div>

Not sure tho.

I should note that in the attachment I posted the social login icons are still in my News Area.

I just left theme there so I could point where I wanted them well I made the attachment.

So at this point I need to be pointed where in the index.template.php file I even go to add them under the login area like I'm looking to do.

Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: ApplianceJunk on May 09, 2013, 05:49:57 PM
Ok, I used the Social Login Wizard steps at OneAll.com

I put this code where I want the social login buttons to display under the user login at the top left of the SMF default theme.

echo'
<div id="social_login_container"></div>

<script type="text/javascript">
oneall.api.plugins.social_login.build("social_login_container", {
  "providers" :  ["facebook", "twitter", "google", "yahoo", "openid"],
  "callback_uri": "http://appliancejunk.com"
});
</script>';

I put it just after...

<div class="info">', $txt['quick_login_dec'], '</div>';

Then I put this code it gives me just before the closing head tag as it says to do.

<script type="text/javascript">
var oneall_js_protocol = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https" : "http");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src="" + oneall_js_protocol + "://appliancejunk.api.oneall.com/socialize/library.js" type="text/javascript"%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>

Everything looks good on the site, like I want it to and it seems as if it's going to work as I can click the facebook or twitter and I get the message that I'm logging in using twitter, but then it just takes me back to our site without being logged in.

Edited to add: The social buttons on the regular login and register pages seem to work perfect.
Just not the ones I put in the location under the user login area.

Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: Mick. on May 09, 2013, 06:35:12 PM
Let's put the scripts together...

<script type="text/javascript">
var oneall_js_protocol = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https" : "http");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src="" + oneall_js_protocol + "://appliancejunk.api.oneall.com/socialize/library.js" type="text/javascript"%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>

<script type="text/javascript">
oneall.api.plugins.social_login.build("social_login_container", {
  "providers" :  ["facebook", "twitter", "google", "yahoo", "openid"],
  "callback_uri": "http://appliancejunk.com"
});
</script>

...and let's try it differently.....

Find:
<input type="submit" value="', $txt['login'], '" class="button_submit" /><br />
<div class="info">', $txt['quick_login_dec'], '</div>';

Replace with:
<input type="submit" value="', $txt['login'], '" class="button_submit" /><br />
<div class="info">', $txt['quick_login_dec'], '</div>
                                        <div id="social_login_container"></div>';

That seem to do the trick, thanks!

Now how did you or how could I have come up with that?

When using the Social Login Wizard there is a box that says...

Setup your callback URL:

I just put in my website URL and then it created this line in the code it created after I reselect the buttons I want to use.

  'callback_uri': 'http://appliancejunk.com'

Guessing I needed to do some more reading someplace.

Title: Re: Social Login

I've had a look at appliancejunk.com.

To add the buttons on top, you need to replace oasl_source=login with oasl_source=register.

Like this:
http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=register

Or you will get this error for new users: This social network has not yet been linked to an account.
You can also enter this callback_uri in the wizard.

The callback_uri is a full url to a script on your server. This script is called be the OneAll API.
The callback script comes with the SMF module and you call it by using /index.php?action=oasl_callback

QuoteThis social network has not yet been linked to an account.

Yes, at times I seen that message too.

Tried so many different things and between a few different browsers I'm not even sure when I seen that message anymore, lol..

Sometimes it seemed I would get that message and sometimes it would just take me back to the site after it said I was logging in with Facebook/Twitter? yet I would not be logged in.

All seems good now. :D

Not sure if you had the chance to read some of my other questions in my above post yet.

What are the limitations on the free account at OneAll.com compared to say the Basic $8/month (All Social Networks
5,000 Users) package?

What does 5,000 Users mean?

Really impressed with your mod and OneAll.com

I still see this on top of your forum:

<script type="text/javascript">
oneall.api.plugins.social_login.build("social_login_container", {
"providers" : ["facebook", "twitter", "google", "yahoo", "openid"],
"callback_uri": "http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=login"
});
</script>

There you need to replace oasl_source=login by oasl_source=register.

You will probably not notice the error yourself because you have already registered before.
New users will however see the error.

With the Basic plan you can remove the branding, customize the icons and raise the user limitation.
5,000 means that 5,000 unique users can register per year through Social Login.
Multiple logins count only once and the counter is reset each year.

I'm glad to hear that you like our services :) Thank you!

QuoteThere you need to replace oasl_source=login by oasl_source=register.

Ok, I changed it. Could you please check it again to see if I have it correct now, thanks!

Quote5,000 means that 5,000 unique users can register per year through Social Login.

Here I was thinking it meant 5,000/month lol...

Being able to customize it would be cool.

What are the limitations for the free account then?

Also when I go to my Forum Profile page I see the social networks I'm using as shown in the attachment.
As the forum admin will I be able to see this information in other members Forum Profiles if they used one of the social networks to create a account on our site?

Trying to use smaller buttons now. Thinking I have to do it with css as talked about on this page.

http://docs.oneall.com/services/customization/social-login/stylesheet/

I copy and pasted the css code they have on that page so I could past the link to my css file into the Social Login Wizard at oneall.com
I can see how the Social Login Wizard is now using the info in my css file on our site, but it looks like I need to create the css info from scratch along with uploading my own images to use.

Would like to take what I have shown now in the attachment, make the buttons a little smaller, little closer together and remove the text from under them.

Any help with the css would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Can't log in with Twitter.  Created the app properly. All should work fine.  When you try to log on, nothing happens.  No error given, but no log-in either. it just sits there.

Well I seem to have received more support before I purchased a subscription from oneall.com :(

Being I have yet to receive any replies from my email to them from last week I will try here again.

Today I noticed these errors in our log.

Quote
http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=register
2: First parameter must either be an object or the name of an existing class
File: /home/applianc/public_html/forums/Sources/OneallSocialLogin.sdk.php
Line: 130

and

Quote
http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=register
8: Trying to get property of non-object
File: /home/applianc/public_html/forums/Sources/OneallSocialLogin.sdk.php
Line: 79

Any idea why?

Thanks,

Hello,

sorry for the delay in answering your email.
I've send you an email with the CSS code to use!

Thank you also for the bug report.
I've had a look and this error probably occurs when a somebody uses the browser's back button after having connected with Social Login.

I will try to get this fixed as soon as possible!

Here is a question. I am using SimplePortal. I read all the posts but did not see this answer. I would like to use a portal block instead of using a file edit. SimplePortal allows you to add custom code boxes in BBC, HTML, PHP.

Is there something I could past into one of these formats to create the block and it work correctly without having to do all the file edits?

My reasoning behind this is you can set the portal block to "Guest" for users to sign in / register. Once they are logged in they will not see the portal block again until they log out.

Hello,

please try this code:

<div id="social_login"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
oneall.api.plugins.social_login.build("social_login", {
"providers" : ["facebook", "twitter", "google", "yahoo"],
"callback_uri": "http://ddcgaming.com/site/index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=login"
});
</script>

The Social Login mod must be installed and setup for this to work.

This is exactly what i am looking for. The walk through instructions were outstanding, the best i have seen. No issues to report thus far.

I am wondering, is there a way to restrict registration through social media only?

-Background info-
I am setting up a community that is based on a google game. All users must have a gmail account to play the game. I want to restrict registration to only be done through the gmail integration of your mod. Is there a setting i can set to make this happen?

I have tried turning off registration but then no one can register. I knew this but i had to try right? :)

I appreciate your help with this.

dimspace, thanks for the reply. I had already did that. I would like Google to be the only choice for logging in and registration. In other words remove the forum login option all together. Same with registration.

I guess i could just try to find the code to remove it from the login and registration page. hmmmm

the freemium plans allows up to 2500 unique users per year.

I wish to have a Facebook only sign on which checks to see if a person is friends with me before letting them sign into my site. There was another mod that I was using but was never able to make it happen. At this point I am ok with just the ability to have my users able to log on through facebook only - disabled original login. I am not in need of any of the social features (likes, chat etc) that go with it.

Guys, I am trying to add the social buttons as ApplianceJunk has do, am I doing this correctly:

Before the </head> tag in index.template.php I add the following:

<script type="text/javascript">
var oneall_js_protocol = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https" : "http");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + oneall_js_protocol + "://shanklyslegacy.api.oneall.com/socialize/library.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>

and after <div class="info">', $txt['quick_login_dec'], '</div>'; I add:

<!-- The plugin will be embedded into this div //-->
<div id="social_login_container"></div>

<script type="text/javascript">
oneall.api.plugins.social_login.build("social_login_container", {
  'providers' :  ['blogger', 'facebook', 'foursquare', 'google', 'openid', 'twitter', 'windowslive', 'wordpress', 'yahoo', 'youtube'],
  'callback_uri': 'http://shanklyslegacy.co.uk/index.php?action=forum'
});
</script>

I keep gettting

Template Parse Error!

There was a problem loading the /Themes/default/index.template.php template or language file. Please check the syntax and try again - remember, single quotes (') often have to be escaped with a slash (\). To see more specific error information from PHP, try accessing the file directly.

Hi,

I added this code to the end of my index.css file.

/* Styles for Social Login Buttons */

.plugin #providers .provider {
  width: 50px !important;
  margin-bottom: 2px !important;
  padding: 2px 4px 4px;
}

.plugin #providers .provider .name {
  display: none !important;
}

.plugin #providers .provider .button {
  background: url("http://appliancejunk.com/images/social/facebook_24x24.gif") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent !important;
  height: 24px !important;
  width: 24px !important;
}

and I added this code to my index.template.php file

<div id="social_login_container"></div>

<script type="text/javascript">
oneall.api.plugins.social_login.build("social_login_container", {
  "providers" :  ["facebook", "twitter", "google", "yahoo", "openid", "windowslive"],
  "callback_uri": "http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=register",
  "css_theme_uri": "http://appliancejunk.com/forums/social_login.css"
  });
</script>';

It was added right after this code in my index.template.php file.

// Otherwise they're a guest - this time ask them to either register or login - lazy bums...
elseif (!empty($context['show_login_bar']))
{
echo '
<script type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/scripts/sha1.js"></script>
<form id="guest_form" action="', $scripturl, '?action=login2" method="post" accept-charset="', $context['character_set'], '" ', empty($context['disable_login_hashing']) ? ' onsubmit="hashLoginPassword(this, \'' . $context['session_id'] . '\');"' : '', '>
<div class="info">', sprintf($txt['welcome_guest'], $txt['guest_title']), '</div>
<input type="text" name="user" size="10" class="input_text" />
<input type="password" name="passwrd" size="10" class="input_password" />
<select name="cookielength">
<option value="60">', $txt['one_hour'], '</option>
<option value="1440">', $txt['one_day'], '</option>
<option value="10080">', $txt['one_week'], '</option>
<option value="43200">', $txt['one_month'], '</option>
<option value="-1" selected="selected">', $txt['forever'], '</option>
</select>
<input type="submit" value="', $txt['login'], '" class="button_submit" /><br />
<div class="info">', $txt['quick_login_dec'], '</div>';

  echo'

Hope that helps.

Not sure off hand, sorry.

The owner of the mod helped me get it set up on my site like I wanted it.

I'm very happy with this mod. We not only get new members that login to our site with it daily, but new members that post in our forum daily after logging in using the social login mod!

btw, I pay monthly, not sure off hand if being able to customize things the way I wanted was just a option for paid members or not.
Anyway I'm more then happy with how this mod has been working for our forum.

Best of luck.

I have some questions for Claude (or anyone else who may know) - I am already using the Oneall Wordpress plugin on my main site, and my SMF forum is linked to Wordpress via the BlogBridger plugin on SMF (with some slight modifications). I also currently have SA Facebook and SA Twitter installed and enabled to allow registration/login via those networks. If I want to install Social Login on my SMF accessing my existing Oneall setup, do you foresee any problems? I imagine I would have to turn off the login/registration features of the SA mods but would there be any issue with BlogBridger? Also would existing users on SMF who have already linked their SMF account to their Facebook/Twitter be affected - would they have to link them again with Social Login?

I know from when I installed your system on Wordpress how good your help is, and I am hopeful that I will be able to install this on my SMF without too many issues, but I don't want to proceed without clarifying things first.

One question I currently have relates to the option Use the user picture from the social network as forum avatar?

When users login with Facebook, it doesn't seem to use the cropped profile picture that appears as their Facebook avatar but rather the uploaded Facebook profile picture before it is cropped.

How can I get the mod to use the Facebook cropped profile image?

Many thanks :)

It's a nice concept but doesn't instantly log people in, still requires new users to create a profile which defeats the purpose.
repro: click Steam login
result: This social network has not yet been linked to an account.
Please use the registration form to create a new account. If you already have an account, open your profile settings to connect the social network to it.

i installed this mod and registered most of the socila networks (yahoo, google, fb, linkedin, etc). The mod works and I can login to the forum as well as register. but the problem is , the forum profiles are not updated with the social network data.  When I go to Profile => Forum profile, all the fields are empty. I want my users to  have most of the forum profile fields updated through the social networks and not update it manually. shouldnt this work by default ?? do i need to make any changes ??

Whenever a user tries to register, login or link their account, they get taken to a blank page.
The url of the page depends on what your action is. It does however display the "you are being redirected" message for a microsecond before the fully blank page appears.

Registration: index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=registration
Login: index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=login
Linking: index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=profile;oasl_uid=2

I followed all of the instructions point by point and have ensured that the settings are correct (tested the api settings etc too and they are all green).

Any ideas?

In the dashboard it says that there are two new users and that there are 5 returning ones.
I'm sure it's just a very simple error and I don't want to sign up for a monthly payment plan just to have one it solved.

Edit:
It turns out that the problem was that we did not have JSON installed.
Be sure to check your smf and/or apache errorlog for the webserver.

The OP was instrumental in finding this solution.
Many thanks!

The mod works and I can login to the forum as well as register. but the problem is , the forum profiles are not updated with the social network data.  When I go to Profile => Forum profile, all the fields are empty. I want my users to  have most of the forum profile fields updated through the social networks and not update it manually. shouldnt this work by default ?? do i need to make any changes ??

bump ??

I have a custom theme installed, and this mod works perfectly fine on the registration page.  But on the login page the icons don't display.  There is text that says, "Login with your social network" but no buttons.  It works fine on the default theme.  Any help using a custom theme and trying to log in?

When I try to login to my site with my Facebook account I get the redirect message and it spins and spins. I never get redirected, but I'm logged in. How can I be redirected to my site?

When I click autodetect and verify I get green messages:

this error happen when you have installed the mod: "Remember Position After Login/Logout"
just you uninstall that mod, that's all   :laugh:

Have the button images moved across into the file for the custom theme?

You may need to manually move them across to the correct folder if they haven't. Have had to do this for a few mods over time.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

@Realinfo
Why would you like to use an older version?

@Surgical
Yes it has successfully been tested with 2.0.7.

@fapencio
Thank you! I'll have a look.

Today I have added version 3.0

New Social Networks

- Amazon
- Blogger
- Disqus
- Instagram
- Vimeo
- Twitch.tv

New Option

In the Social Login settings you can now find an option to choose how new users have to be activated.

Method of registration employed for new members?
- Automatically approve users that register with Social Login
- Use the system-wide setting from Administration \ Registration \ Settings
- Use email activation (New users receive an email with an activation link)
- Use admin approval (New users have to be approved by an administrator)
- Registration of new members is disabled

Bugfix "This social network has not yet been linked"

The following option was reversed in the previous version:
Allow the registration of new users through the login page

Ticking the checkbox disabled the option instead of enabling it (and vice versa).
This bug has now been fixed.

If you have an older version (< 3.0) then keep this bug in mind if you want to disable this message on the login page:

This social network has not yet been linked to an account.
Please use the registration form to create a new account. If you already have an account,
open your profile settings to connect the social network to it.

I try to check the forum regularly, but if it's urgent do not hesitate to contact our support here:
http://www.oneall.com/company/contact-us/

Regards,

The plugin does not modify the existing authentication system in any way, so I don't think that this issue is related to Social Login.
Could you post a link to your forum?

Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: Semetery on June 22, 2014, 05:43:55 PM
First, I love the plugin, it's really nice to be able to have lazy users login easily. Haha. I think it definitely ups the registration rate!

But I do have a couple of problems if anyone can help.

1. No matter what service used, when a user registers, their avatar comes across as just an X (broken link to the image). I'm not sure what is causing it.

2. When a user registers with Disqus, their username doesn't convert properly, it gives them disqus_(a bunch of random numbers and letters).

3. What usergroup are people who register with social sites defaulted to? I noticed that, by default, neither of my test accounts were able to post.

I'm using 2.0.7 for reference, the install went fine as did all of the setup. Thanks!

I simply cannot make this work.  My forum is vapecraftmods.com.

I am using the default theme, I pretty much have only this mod installed at this point.

It seemingly installs fine, the settings show up in the admin section.  It also adds a section to the register page and account settings, however it is missing all buttons/links to function.  I have read this entire thread, tried everything, attempted to contact oneall on their website...  No luck.

Any Help?

Really useful mod  8)

Installed fine with zero issues on a 2.0.9 forum using Dream Portal and a few dozen mods and some hand coded changes so if you are having problems with it I suspect they existed on your forums or setup prior to installing this mod.

Instructions on the Oneall site to install the individual Social networks are fairly comprehensive and easy to follow albeit it a slow slog if you want to install a fair few of them but a couple of hours work will see it done with a few interruptions even if you don't have accounts on those social networks to start with.

I caught the issue, while I try to redirect mysite.com/index.php to mysite.com through an htaccess redirect. Social Login is not logging me in. All runs perfect but in the end user don't get logged in.

I used below code in htaccess for index.php redirection

RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^.*/index\.php
RewriteRule ^(.*)index.php$ http://www.gotripperz.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Can you please suggest me the alternate code for this redirection as I am risking for the duplicate content to run Social Login, if I remove index.php redirection.

Hi, Simpleportal to Easier add icons to social login.

Add new block and slect "PHP content"

Add this code{
global $txt, $modSettings, $boardurl;

if (!empty ($modSettings['oasl_api_key']) && !empty ($modSettings['oasl_enabled_providers']))
{
// Extract the chosen providers.
$providers = explode (',', trim ($modSettings['oasl_enabled_providers']));

// Create Random integer to prevent id collision.
$rand = mt_rand (99999, 9999999);

// Separe from the traditional login.
echo '<hr />';

// Display error messages if there are any.
if ( isset ($_REQUEST['oasl_err']))
{
switch ($_REQUEST['oasl_err'])
{
case 'user_does_not_exist':
echo '<p class="error">'.$txt['oasl_user_does_not_exist'].'</p>';
break;

case 'user_require_activation':
echo '<p class="error">'.$txt['oasl_user_require_activation'].'</p>';
break;

case 'user_registration_disabled':
echo '<p class="error">'.$txt['oasl_user_may_not_register'].'</p>';
break;
}
}

if ( ! empty ($modSettings['oasl_settings_login_caption']))
{
echo '
<p style="text-align:left;">
<strong>', $modSettings['oasl_settings_login_caption'], '</strong>
</p>';
}

echo '
<p style="text-align:left;">
<div class="oneall_social_login_providers" id="oneall_social_login_providers_', $rand, '"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
oneall.api.plugins.social_login.build("oneall_social_login_providers_', $rand, '", {
"providers": [\'', implode ("', '", $providers), '\'],
"callback_uri": \'', $boardurl, '/index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=login\',
});
</script>
<!-- OneAll.com / Social Login for SMF -->
</p>';
}
}

Before the ?> tag in Modifications.turkish-utf8.php I add the following:

$txt['oasl_title'] = 'Sosyal giriş';
$txt['oasl_config'] = 'Yapılandırma';
$txt['oasl_settings_descr'] = 'Sosyal giriş Ayarları';
$txt['oasl_user_does_not_exist'] = "<strong>Bu sosyal ağ henüz bir hesaba bağlanmış değil.</strong><br /><br />Yeni bir hesap oluşturmak için kayıt formunu kullanınız. Zaten bir hesabınız varsa, bunu sosyal ağa bağlanmak için Lütfen profil ayarlarınızı açın.";
$txt['oasl_user_may_not_register'] = 'Üzgünüz, yetkili yeni kullanıcılar için kayıt devre dışı bıraktı. ';
$txt['oasl_user_require_activation'] = 'Hesabınız oluşturuldu fakat doğrulanması gerekiyor. Posta kutunuzu kontrol edin ve doğrulama e-postadaki linke tıklayınız.';
// OneAll Social Login (https://docs.oneall.com/plugins/)

Is there a way to quickly disable this mod when OneAll server is extremely slow or down? When that happens, my site takes forever to load.

Or maybe there should be some sort of timeout feature that we can set in the admin panel so that when the SMF install can't establish a connection with OneAll server, it just acts like if the mod was not installed.

I was able to center the one one the registration page but am still struggling to center the one on the login page / in my custom Simple Portal block..

both use:

I'd also like to be able to specify to take the large picture not the small one. I know you can do this because I have OneAll on my other non SMF websites and it is a setting on all of them. Are you able to look into it please? :)

Hey Guys,

Is there a way to add login buttons under the "login box" that I have on top-right corner in header? I don't know which code should I add to index.template, I tried with a code from oneall site, and the buttons is showing but it won't log me in at all using those buttons. I guess that the callback url is wrong, i used ...index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=login
Any advice please?

Are you able to make this take the required rego fields into account? It sometimes asks for an email address so why can't it pop up with the required profile fields on rego? :)

Heads up: When you promote a social login peep to admin and have admin security requiring passwords to enter admin they can't get in.

You may wish to look into that :).

Hi,

I added this code to the end of my index.css file.

/* Styles for Social Login Buttons */

.plugin #providers .provider {
  width: 50px !important;
  margin-bottom: 2px !important;
  padding: 2px 4px 4px;
}

.plugin #providers .provider .name {
  display: none !important;
}

.plugin #providers .provider .button {
  background: url("http://appliancejunk.com/images/social/facebook_24x24.gif") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent !important;
  height: 24px !important;
  width: 24px !important;
}

and I added this code to my index.template.php file

<div id="social_login_container"></div>

<script type="text/javascript">
oneall.api.plugins.social_login.build("social_login_container", {
  "providers" :  ["facebook", "twitter", "google", "yahoo", "openid", "windowslive"],
  "callback_uri": "http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=register",
  "css_theme_uri": "http://appliancejunk.com/forums/social_login.css"
  });
</script>';

It was added right after this code in my index.template.php file.

// Otherwise they're a guest - this time ask them to either register or login - lazy bums...
elseif (!empty($context['show_login_bar']))
{
echo '
<script type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/scripts/sha1.js"></script>
<form id="guest_form" action="', $scripturl, '?action=login2" method="post" accept-charset="', $context['character_set'], '" ', empty($context['disable_login_hashing']) ? ' onsubmit="hashLoginPassword(this, \'' . $context['session_id'] . '\');"' : '', '>
<div class="info">', sprintf($txt['welcome_guest'], $txt['guest_title']), '</div>
<input type="text" name="user" size="10" class="input_text" />
<input type="password" name="passwrd" size="10" class="input_password" />
<select name="cookielength">
<option value="60">', $txt['one_hour'], '</option>
<option value="1440">', $txt['one_day'], '</option>
<option value="10080">', $txt['one_week'], '</option>
<option value="43200">', $txt['one_month'], '</option>
<option value="-1" selected="selected">', $txt['forever'], '</option>
</select>
<input type="submit" value="', $txt['login'], '" class="button_submit" /><br />
<div class="info">', $txt['quick_login_dec'], '</div>';

  echo'

Hope that helps.

I can't get this to work, is it still the right code? :)

I installed this plugin and it seems to work great but it removed the Display Name option for the members.  I can change the Display Name from the admin side but they aren't able to do it themselves.  Is there a way around to fix this other than to uninstall the plugin?

Just remove the few lines in Admin.php that were added (but unfortunately not removed) by this mod (details are in the mod parser on the mod download page).

If you're not comfortable editing the file, attach it to a post and someone will edit the lines out for you. Be aware that there may be other places/files which haven't had the mod contents removed during your uninstall (I'm guessing you were shown errors during the uninstall but proceeded anyway?).

First of all, sorry for my bad English language.

I have one problem with this mod.

When I login of my forum with this mod (facebook, twitter, steam, etc.) and when I wrote post it didn't count and show in my profile box.

Example.

Before I wrote post I had 21.474 posts, and after I write post the number is still same in my profile box.

When I use classic login (not by Social Login mod), everything is fine, and every new post count at my profil box Posts statistic.

Anybody can help?

Is it possible that this mod integrates with other Social Mods that add profile fields to include things like Steam name/ID? Or does anyone know of other mods that integrate with this one?

I know there is a couple mods that adds the Steam ID to the profile field and display the Steam Profile, but you have to enter those manually. I was hoping to find anything that allows this sign in with those Social Networks to have that information integrated.

Is it possible to have this mod work with the Stop Spammer mod? I just had a spammer get through and they posted hundreds of times. I deleted them and their posts. They were using a fake google account which was deleted and I assume that would have stopped them coming back but it would be good to have it check with Stop Spammer first :).

I am just wondering if it's possible to change a members username after they've signed up, but not break the social login?

Some of my members have really convoluted usernames and they need to use them to get into other software that's integrated with forum memberships. It would be great if I could request they make a username/display name choice as well as some have gotten upset FB login uses their real name (what were they thinking it would use? lol) and if they can pick a username to log in with that would really help make it easier for them to log in elsewhere.

I agree with this. I'm personally annoyed at social login systems because I want to keep access to different sites...different. That way if I hack occurs, only 1 site is affected. But, the speed and ease with registration using an existing account's credentials will undeniably improve the odds someone will decide to participate on a forum. Pro and cons. Having the choice is good.

Hello,

the mod creates regular SMF user accounts. It's the same account type that is also being created
for users that register using the regular registration page.

If you remove the mod, your users will no longer be able to login with their social network accounts.
The user accounts however remain and the users can then use the "Lost Password" link in your forum
to get a username/password to login instead of using a social network account login.

That is exactly why I am here... Went to update and got this test failed image: (Attached OneAllPlugin2.png)

So it looks like it's about to lock me out with no way of retrieving a changed password.

Just wanted to confirm that mod is working nicely with 2.0.14 without problems.
Problem described above which occurs on installation exist, but what should be done is just to manually add that code in Login.template.php file, as 2.0.14 version has a bit different code, for example search for this:
<p class="smalltext"><a href="', $scripturl, '?action=reminder">', $txt['forgot_your_password'], '</a></p><input type="hidden" name="', $context['session_var'], '" value="', $context['session_id'], '" />
<input type="hidden" name="hash_passwrd" value="" />

And after that add:

';

// OneAll Social Login (https://docs.oneall.com/plugins/)
template_oneall_social_login();

echo '

That would be all, depending on your theme it might be a bit different, but the mod overall works fine.

Q2: Is it possible to install Your mod and http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2322 / SA Facebook Integration mod same time?

Q3: is it possible to pull other info like contact lists and send invites to contacts in your future versions (like some SA FB inegration mods) ?

Q4: What would be the aprox price for service to get Your mod working / your mod working with SA FB Integration same time (if possible) in clean forum ?

For some reason, Oneall has stopped working suddenly after some years
When I try to log in, through OneAll it seems to do it right, because the Usage summary goes up (Returning Users). But the user does not login. It just returns to the main site
But with the standard login, it works flawlessly

Versions: Social Login: 3.6
SMF Version: 2.0.15

I'm looking in both SMF logs and Apache log and there is nothing regarding this issue. I'm completely missing something.
I've tested both API Settings though SMF and API Connection Handler and it's working fine
Also checked both Facebook App and Google+ API Console and everything is right.

Question:  If I uninstall this mod, will people who have previously logged in using their FB account, still have forum access by using the usual login/password method?  Or will it boot them / deactivate their account or.. ?

When you use this plugin it creates 2 tables: one that links a OneAll SMF ID with a SMF user, and one that links a OneAll internal ID with a OneAll SMF ID. Simultaneously, it creates a new user in the SMF member table (and it asks the user which email wants to be used for this thing if you specify it in the options)

Therefore if you uninstall this plugin, all users will remain on your members table. The problem is that they won't know their password at first, so they will have to do a "password recovery" action in order to retrieve their password back and still have access to the forum (unless they did this in the past).

In attempting to uninstall this mod, it shows the following errors:

Quote7. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/Login.template.php Test failed

  1. Add Before ./Themes/default/Login.template.php Test successful
  2. Replace ./Themes/default/Login.template.php Test failed
  3. Replace ./Themes/default/Login.template.php Test failed

Given that this involves the login template I want to be absolutely SURE that when I go to uninstall the mod I don't do anything which will prevent the normal SMF login process from working as it should.

Is it simply a matter of making the changes to that file manually -or is there something else to note?
Post the uninstall does it give a choice to remove any related files (if there are any?) and if so, should I tick yes?

Thanks for your help :)

I understand when taking the issue of social login registered users under this modality disappear, and do not know to what extent the database changes ... That error usually happens when there is no such line specified Oh, any recent changes?

Title: Re: Social Login

That'd certainly be appreciated.

I'm not comfortable with social network integration any longer, but want to remove it in such a way that
1. It doesn't break the forum (obviously); and
2. Ideally, doesn't 'kill' any members.

Also I tried to manually parse the code (for 2.0.15 and then 2.0.14) to see what changes those actually comprise - and got an error on this site along the lines of 'the mod is not compatible with that version' - and it didn't show the code changes.
I'm hoping that's just a glitch?

I'll try and help out, but I can't promise anything since I've never used this mod.

See in which places of the code the mod fails to uninstall (the notepad icon on the left side of those files will tell you what the uninstall process is trying to modify but can't find it). Post the results here, we'll see if we can solve this painlessly ;).

Title: Re: Social Login

Well, here's your problem. In the first code snippet, Login.template.php actually has this code instead of the code the uninstaller is looking for.

Code (Login.template.php (first code snippet)) Select
<p class="smalltext"><a href="', $scripturl, '?action=reminder">', $txt['forgot_your_password'], '</a></p><input type="hidden" name="', $context['session_var'], '" value="', $context['session_id'], '" />';

// OneAll Social Login (https://docs.oneall.com/plugins/)
template_oneall_social_login();

echo '

And in the second code snippet, Login.template.php has this instead of what the uninstaller requires.

Code (Login.template.php (second code snippet)) Select
<p class="centertext"><input type="submit" value="', $txt['login'], '" class="button_submit" /></p>
<p class="centertext smalltext"><a href="', $scripturl, '?action=reminder">', $txt['forgot_your_password'], '</a></p><input type="hidden" name="', $context['session_var'], '" value="', $context['session_id'], '" />';

// OneAll Social Login (https://docs.oneall.com/plugins/)
template_oneall_social_login();

echo '

These must be edits from some mod. I edited Login.template.php in 2 different ways. You'll use Login.template.php.for.social.login.uninstall to uninstall the mod and Login.template.php.after.social.login.uninstall after you've uninstalled the mod.

So, the procedure would go like this.

01) Copy your original Login.template.php and name it Login.template.php.bak1.

02) Copy both Login.template.php.for.social.login.uninstall and Login.template.php.after.social.login.uninstall in the same directory (/forum_root/Themes/default/).

03) Delete Login.template.php.

04) Rename Login.template.php.for.social.login.uninstall to Login.template.php.

05) Uninstall the mod. The tests should pass now.

06) Rename Login.template.php to Login.template.php.bak2

07) Rename Login.template.php.after.social.login.uninstall to Login.template.php.

08) Check if everything works OK (logging in and out). Test the forum for a day or two, see if any members report any login/logout issues. If not, that's it.

Just in case, keep Login.template.php.bak1 and Login.template.php.bak2. After a few months, if there are no issues, you could probably delete them, but keep a local backup of the forum's files (like one named "before social login uninstall" and the other one "after social login uninstall") ;).

Actually, I just noticed this, but it looks like the mod was last updated before the 2.0.14+ login fix, so that is what's causing the problem, this additional piece of code.

<input type="hidden" name="', $context['session_var'], '" value="', $context['session_id'], '" />

Firstly thanks for all the work in the big post, much appreciated.

However I'm not sure what you mean in the second brief post. Does that imply there is something much simpler that I need to do? Or something additional?
Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: GigaWatt on July 12, 2018, 09:56:55 PM
What I meant was, the Social Login mod was updated before the 2.0.14+ login fix (https://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Login_error_2.0.14), but you must have installed it before the 2.0.14 login fix.

Hmmm... do you have the this (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=4167) mod installed?
Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: landyvlad on July 13, 2018, 12:37:12 AM
Yes social login has been installed since 2.0.13.

I wasn't aware of any 2.0.14+ login issues ?

No, I don't have that mod installed.
Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: GigaWatt on July 13, 2018, 05:35:16 AM
They weren't login issues... well, they were if you upgraded to 2.0.14 but only if you had a theme or a portal that wasn't up to date. That was a security login patch (released as a mod for those who didn't want or didn't know hot to manually patch their themes) and is theme dependent (you have to apply it on your theme).

So, you probably have the 2.0.14 and 2.0.15 small upgrade packages installed, you're using Curve and that might explain how the fix got in the code (SMF also patches it's own theme files).

There's no easy way around it. You'll have to follow the steps I wrote in my previous post. Just don't forget to be logged in when you do all of that editing. So, basically, you should have your FTP program running and be logged in the forum before you do any of that, because you wouldn't be able to log in once you remove that piece of code :S.

Yes, that's not a problem ;). Actually, it's preferred since users that might try to log in, won't be able to because... well, that code is the login fix :S. Without it, nobody would be able to log in :S.

Just make sure you bring the code back before you log out ;). So, basically, do all of the edits while you're logged in, uninstall the mod from the Admin panel, bring back all of the code that you removed (i.e. the 2.0.14+ login fix) and then logout ;).

You never tweaked the login form on any of your themes, either manually or through a mod?

Because 2.0.14 introduced a security change that stopped most custom themes working correctly for login boxes...
Title: Re: Social Login

No aside from social login none of the mods I've installed would have (as far as I can imagine) made any changes to the login stuff.

I ONLY use curve theme (with responsive curve mod installed). No other themes.

You would have to manually edit the code...

(and when a mod gives you an error on install or uninistall, understand that means exactly what the message says -- the mod will not fully install (or uninstall) and you will have to manually edit the code that failed the automatic process.)

Hello,

you have probably modified the login template after having install Social Login 3.5. This is why it was not correctly removed when you uninstalled it now.
In your theme directory you need to open Login.template.php. There you need to remove this block:

<p style="text-align:left;">
<div class="oneall_social_login_providers" id="oneall_social_login_providers_', $rand, '"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
oneall.api.plugins.social_login.build("oneall_social_login_providers_', $rand, '", {
"providers": [\'', implode ("', '", $providers), '\'],
"callback_uri": \'', $boardurl, '/index.php?action=oasl_callback;oasl_source=login\',
});
</script>

What happens immediately after registration?

Are members given the opportunity to select a password? A Username?

Can they still login without their social login?

Yes, they can use their avatars from social network as well.

Now the login form for SocialLogin is not working properly because is missing and therefor no one can login through SocialLogin. :(

You know what? I dont have the answer. good question but i would think that if the mod fails, the user can still login with the user name used in the past and password. Like if i used facebook to login in the past, you should be able to login using your facebook name and password. Well i'm thinking that that would be reasonably.  I guess you could untick the facebook icon in admin and try to login with your facebook name and password via smf login and see if that works. If it does, then everything should work if the mod fails. Then tick the facebook icon back on. Hence, using the mod it automaticly registers users. Now, i have not done this.

I assume that ALL the changes made when installing social login are shown in the 'parse manually' function.

However, does social login make any changes to SMF files subsequently?  i.e When activated or when a user joins via social media for the first time?

I've uninstalled the mod but am not 100% sure that things are as they were before, and I need to be certain.

Thanks

Title: Re: Social Login
Post by: Biology Forums on September 05, 2018, 08:29:08 PM
I have finally got around to installing this and have several answers:

What happens immediately after registration?

You are redirected to your profile. At least in my forum where it's programmed to do that.

Are members given the opportunity to select a password? A Username?

No. The username is generated based on your social media account. The password is auto-generated as a number, but the user doesn't get to see it. Therefore, if the software stops working, those members are doomed.

There's a simple work around though. What I did was create an auto-generated password that's easy to remember, and upon successful login, that password is sent to the user within a personal message explaining their backup login credentials.

Does their avatar from their social profile get linked?

Yes, which I find quite nice.

Can they still login without their social login?

Out of the box, they can't, but I've worked around it (read above).

you can't -- an iframe calls a completely separate website. Nothing you do for CSS will affect the display in the iframe.

I am aware about that but I was wondering is there any chance as part of some new update to add css file or that would be risky move?

Part of their business involves subscribing (costs money) so that you can modify that stuff from their end -- I see where they're coming from.

Even if a new update included a CSS file, the login interface is loading from an iframe, unless they did a complete rewrite which I assume they'd never do. On a side note, you could use javascript to remove/modify certain stuff, but the work required isn't worth the minimal gain in my opinion, because it's pretty good the way it is out of the box.

I incorporated it into my main forum and it looks pretty good.

It looks good because you are using white background. If you change to some dark style it wouldn't be same look.  :-\

Mine is gray, not white. Why not place the code within a div that is white and has a border that's gray? That'll make it pop out more.

Hi,

I have an educational forum https://www.amps.edu.pk/forum , I have installed social login mod on that forum. On the login page, I want to center align the social buttons of Facebook, G+ and Twtiter. I also wanted to show only one button per line.

I have asked the question in this forum and on support forum support.oneall.com I got a response there that I should add these lines to the stylesheet:

.oneall_social_login_providers{
width: 220px;
margin: 0 auto;
}

I don't know where exactly I should add these lines. I tried to edit the file OneallSocialLogin.admin.css and index.cc in the themes/css folder and added the above-mentioned code. But no luck.

Can you please guide me which file I should edit?

I am using the default theme.

Thanks.

I want to change the color of these labels bellow the social icons (Facebook, Google, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Yahoo) and there is some other http://assets.oneallcdn.com/css/api/themes/beveled_w35_h35_wc_v1.css file which I am not able to get in and change them.
How can I solve this issue?

I just want to change to color from #555 to #fff. The rule and the class is this:

.plugin #providers .provider .name {
color: #555;
text-align: center;
font-size: 11px;
line-height: 14px;
margin: 1px 0 2px;
}

Facebook dev page asks for your phone number or your credit card to verify your info before you go into their dev platform. I dont know about the others yet.

You have a double install....    it's eval, and the issue is a template definition, so the error is not in Load.php itself...   find out where the template_oneall_social_login is added and remove the duplicated one...   then look for other duplicated code, since the one duplicate probably means that there are others.

Yeah, I found it.  Forum is a mess, had to uninstall/reinstall a lot of mods to get them in new theme, old versions, broken code.  Some of these older forums get pretty ragged over time, it's impressive that SMF keeps working even with a lot of damage.  It's the B-17 of forumware.

So, I am a serious newbie compared to everyone here...

What does that mean exactly? Paste"function template_oneall_social_login()" in the file somewhere?

I did load that mod several times trying to get it to go.

The errors were around XML file something, and think it was a column in database missing...

Dead serious about the $50; will send via Paypal if I can see it actually working...

Thank you,

BugginIn

Hi!

Will this mod be updated to support 2.1.4 SMF version? I have incompatibility warning when I try to install it on 2.1.4.

Are you expecting realtime support? That's not how this works...

You need to check the other themes you are using during installation (if there are any template edits).

No was expecting others may have had same issues advice.
Now I just get hanging circle while trying to login.
Honestly this has been the worst mod ive ever installed, has had issues every step of the way with no end in sight.
Does not help that the install information may have once been adequate however the google side of these pages has changed probably 20 times since the setup docs were written.

A week of time trying to debug all this, I just dont have words to express the frustration. Im over it and have removed it from my forum install. (It seems its to old for support from the developers site.)
