I thought the same, going through the package parsing:
it adds an accordian toggle in display template, under the users gender icon
then it seems to create a profile entry called "extra info" where you can, um put in extra info
and then if you click on a users toggle, it displays the extra info in an accordian.
at least thats what i think it does. install it and try.

Are mods no longer QA'd before they hit the streets? Surely the membership shouldn't have to browse source files to see what a mod's objectives are...
Yeah... who knows, maybe it's the best mod ever, but I doubt non-spanish-speaking users will ever know.
You should add default setting for $modSettings['extrainfo_speed'], because it's causing errors in logs on first install:
8: Undefined index: extrainfo_speed
Also add
type="text/javascript"
when you including jQuery.

Some Extra Info is indeed needed here.
Seems like the SMFHispano website is no more, consequently if anyone installs this mod then don't expect any support.

Added some screenshots, and changed the description.
Now everyone can see exactly what is this mod about.
