Hey, in your profile where you can change signature it just shows a box, how can you add the big "panel" to it?
and can you perhabs make it an option?
So you see the signatue box and a little "bar" above it... and if you click it, it expands into the "panel", the one you also use when writing threads or replies.
anyone?
do you mean like a wysiwyg editor, or just the posting interface?
The one that also shows up when you press reply in a thread?
You want a screenshot?
For 300 chars you want those buttons?
It's absolutely useless. Try to use three different BBcodes, and you'll see how much space will remain for your cool signature. Nothing.
So why to insert the whole thing for 3 mouse clicks?
I'm not sure if I was clear enough. 8)

Its just because a lot of members havn't seen a forum before, so they don't know BBC codes, therefor not able to make "cool" signatures, which makes them sad.
I was just trying to help them...
That's ok.
Tell them to use the post form. They just have to start a new topic and "design" their signature there. They can preview how it will look!
When they are finished they can copy/paste the resulting code into the signature box. And they don't actually post the thing on the forum. It's not that hard.

Has this been addressed in the new SMF? This is really very handy. Of course, you can simply tell your users to "make" their signatures in the post preview but that simply disappoints them. Why not offer this to SMF users? vBulletin has this and it's really easy to make a sig there.
I'm looking forward to having this one in SMF too.
There may be already a mod here. If there is not, I may try to make one. But I think I've heard of it.
For which SMF version do you want it for? I may create one.
i'm using 1.1RC2 .. i'll look forward to that, Harzem! Thanks in advance :)
a WYSIWYG Editor for signatures would be a really great default feature
