Title: [Solved] Trouble with URLs
Post by: Aome on April 15, 2013, 12:39:37 AM
Well, the thing is... and hope I can explain it properly:

When I click in some option of my menu, such as forum (as an example) and then I go to other part of the site, sometimes the forum URL remains in the address field, not the url of the actual section of the site Im currently in.

This happens not only with the forum URL but sometimes with the PM section or some other areas of the site.

How can I fix this? as sometimes I click in an option and the url changes but doesnt take me to the actual section....

Thank you in advance.

Sounds like you're using frames or iframes on your site - which is usually a bad idea.

I thought so... but how can I change it? is not something that I chose... maybe the menu editor lite cause this?

I click mainly in the profile button of the menu, then on a next button but the profile url gets stuck... Is really a problem making the site looks like not functioning properly :(

Any suggestion? :D

What's your forum url?
Are you using any kind of url redirection service such as .tk domains or something like that?

Profile and admin menus (the ones slightly below the main menu) don't support (yet) the click on the "main" item.
Let's say you click on "Profile" here at the top of the page, and the profile summary opens. If the n you click on "profile info" or "modify profile" nothing happens. You have to click on an element of the dropdown menu (e.g. "summary", "show stats", "account settings", etc.).

Thank for your answers :) I fixed the problem with the main menu not changing the url, but it persists in the forum.

Let's say I click in a board   http://mysite.com/index.php?board=25.0

Then I click in a topic which is

http://mysite.com/index.php?topic=109

it loads it well, but in the url field (address) the url http://mysite.com/index.php?board=25.0 remains there, didn't change. Is this normal? or there is a way to fix it.

Thank you.

Well guys, I searched in my files for the infamous iframe... turned out to be the SCM player, was messing around with the whole thing since it gets in with an iframe. Is gone now. Thank you!
