This is currently not working yet... expect a fix with the new Joomla-SMF bridge.

Is there a fix for it yet? I get the same error...

I use the discuss bot with Joomla 1.5, SMF 1.1RC1, Bridge 3.19a and I get this error

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in
/home/free/public_html/mambots/content/smf.discussbot.php on line 30

Any ideas?

Try using this version (http://www.technoadvice.com/component/remository/Download/Joomla-and-Mambo/SMF-Discussbot-version-4.1-final/).

Yep, I did try it. However, there appears to be a bug in it somewhere and whenever I use it the second article in the home page goes below the footer. This is fixed only when I delete the mambot (disabling it does not do the trick).

Any ideas where exactly that bug is?

I'm not positive.  Could you try the beta 5 version posted here (http://www.technoadvice.com/component/remository/Download/Joomla-and-Mambo/SMF-Discussbot-version-4.1-beta-5/) and see if that one works?  If so, it's probably the call to SSI that the discussbot does - that causes problems on some particular configurations.

Chadness,

The one I tried is beta 7. Is it possible that 5 is a more recent one?

Good deal!  Beta 5 is an older version - it doesn't have as nice of formatting of the messages.  For instance, it doesn't parse the BBCode.  However, the coding to enable that is what is messing your system up.  I need to re-write that part of the code, but I've been holding off for now.
