The social media icons are only visible in the admin area. How do I control visibility in the forums?

Thanks

Social media icons are available everywhere, since they are jquery based, if jquery is not loaded somehow, they will not be visible. Try refreshing page.

PS: Lean, nice theme and good use of contrast of colors on which canvas.

I have the Facebook Slide Like Box mod installed. Would that prevent the icons loading?

Looks nice. One thing though. Your linktree breaks if there's too much content, and/or it the user wants a larger than standard text size in their browser. I'd suggest removing the fixed height and hidden overflow on the linktree container. :)

I checked the box to remove the ability to change color in the forum but there is always the option of clicking other colors

Remove this of index.template.php:
echo '<div id="ss_variant">',
$txt['firox_change_color'] ,'
<a class="red" href="', $scripturl, '?variant=red" title=""></a>
<a class="blue" href="', $scripturl, '?variant=blue" title=""></a>
<a class="green" href="', $scripturl, '?variant=green" title=""></a>

You can di this, too:

if (empty($settings['disable_user_variant']))
echo '<div id="ss_variant">',
$txt['firox_change_color'] ,'
<a class="red" href="', $scripturl, '?variant=red" title=""></a>
<a class="blue" href="', $scripturl, '?variant=blue" title=""></a>
<a class="green" href="', $scripturl, '?variant=green" title=""></a>
<a class="black" href="', $scripturl, '?variant=black" title=""></a>
<a class="violet" href="', $scripturl, '?variant=violet" title=""></a>
<a class="skyblue" href="', $scripturl, '?variant=skyblue" title=""></a>
</div>';

I will add that into the theme.

How would I go about replacing the logo 'Firox Multicolor' to a custom logo?

Thanks :)

Also having trouble with some missing text (image below will explain it better). Could someone explain how to get the black background back with the white text?

The only mod I'm running is SimplePortal.

I recently installed Firox Multicolor. I really like it, but for some reason when I copy and paste and save my post the pasted material is chopped off.

Any one know a fix for this?

Hi, Thank you for using my theme.

In the file index.css seeks to:
#admin_menu {background: #222; padding: 8px 3px 3px 3px;}

And replace with this:
#admin_menu {background: #222;}

And search this:
.catbg, .catbg2, tr.catbg td, tr.catbg2 td, tr.catbg th, tr.catbg2 th
{
color: #444;

And replace with this:
.catbg, .catbg2, tr.catbg td, tr.catbg2 td, tr.catbg th, tr.catbg2 th
{
color: #f4f4f4;

Thank you for report it, already fixed in the package :)

Hello,

I love the theme.  I was very happy when I found it because its just what I was looking for.  Nice and simple and clean.
Anyway, Im new to all this stuff (as in within the last few days) and Ive been tinkering with settings and what not getting a forum set up, but there's only one more thing Id like to do before its ready.

Is there any way to edit the social networking buttons so that instead of sharing the forum, it will link people to my various profiles?

Thank you!

EDIT: Nevermind... I seem to have figured it out.  Now I just need to know how to make it so they dont open in new windows, but new tabs.

Hi again... Ive had a couple people mention that theyd like the "Show replies to your posts" link available, but I havent been able to find anything to give them a feature like that.

Is there anything that can be done to bring that collapsible header at the top of the forum with those links back?  Ive told them to just go to their profile and go to "show posts", but I was hoping there would be a way to bring the "show new replies..." link back.

Thanks.

Yeah Ive been going through all the files trying to figure out how (or where) exactly I would do something like that... the problem is I have NO idea what Im doing haha.

Im learning little by little mostly from Googling and trial and error.

But knowing that I actually CAN do it is good.  I dont want to take up anyones time asking them to walk me through this stuff, I just needed to know it was possible.

So thanks!

Title: Re: Firox multicolor by SMFSimple.com
Post by: MJNS1981 on July 15, 2013, 06:29:34 PM
Well, I was thinking Id put it in the tabs.  Maybe next to the "Home" tab.

A tab called "New Posts" that drops down with "Unread posts since last visit" and "Show new replies to your posts".

Id probably mess with the wording and location once I figured out how to actually get it there, but thats the main idea that Im going for.
Ive almost got it, I think.  I seem to have figured out how to add it to the button array, the only problem is that it shows up blank.  Theres no title for the tab.

It just made a little gap between Home and Help.

So if I can figure out why theres no title for the tab, Id be good!!

EDIT:  I just realized it was doing that because I was using a capital P when I titled it.  Haha... Its working now. (still learning this kind of stuff).

Hi,

Great theme!

I wonder if you can help with a small problem I have though. For some reason, the title bar is not displaying correctly.

I have attached two screen shots showing what should be there and what I actually see (if I highlight the title bar, the text is visible).

Can you advise what I need to do to fix this?

I can send over any of the theme files if any of you are able to edit the code to make this look correct.

Thanks

Lee

Update - the title bar seems to work absolutely fine in Firefox, but not in Internet Explorer or Google Chrome for some reason.

Would there be a specific reason for this?

The sections within the boards were also red in both Chrome and IE...whereas they too display as they should in Firefox.

I first noticed it on my iPad (certain parts showing up blank), but assumed it was something to do with the iPad.  But after seeing this post, I tested it with Safari on my Mac, and its doing the same thing.

This is an excellent theme. I've searched but can't seem to find a way of making child boards drop down. I don't want to mess with the files unless its' safe. Is there a way to make child boards drop down instead of showing up in a list, as we have many child boards and it can be overwhelming. Thanks for the wonderful work on this theme.

I'm using that, but unfortunately it will not work (would not) with this theme. I did find out how to manually insert the code though. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, thank you. I did that yesterday after I got brave enough. I did find that I had to replace all of the child code for it to work for some reason. Up to and prior to that first selection. Otherwise it's all fine. Thank you.

Hopefully you folks can be some help to me.

We've recently switched over to using this theme but some of our users want the global "Show unread posts since last visit" button to be added in.

I can't for the life of me find where I should be adding this (or for that matter what I should be adding).
Any ideas?

Love this theme - thank you. I would also like to change the social icons so that they share a different URL as mine is a private forum - so I want to share the link to the public page. What do I edit please?
